Finding the Source

Sidekicks POV (WE ARE NOT SIDEKICKS!)

"Can you believe this?!" 

Kid Flash complains once again, loudly. 

"The league up and leaves, after they agreed to let us be a team, and here we are doing nothing! Again!!!"

The others outwardly sigh but can't help but agree. Just a few days ago, Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, and Superboy took down Cadmus labs and formed their own team. Unofficially, anyway. Batman and the League agreed to think about it, but they were already basically a team, so it doesn't matter how long the League takes to acknowledge it! 

The reason the sidekicks are so worked up is because Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern Hal Jordan, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Aquaman, and Red Tornado went off to investigate a strong power signature, leaving the team of young heroes behind. 

Obviously, they didn't take too kindly to that.

"Almost the whole League is out there investigating the energy source, and we're stuck here without anything to do!"

The others are silent, mostly content to listen to Kid Flash's ranting. 

Superboy, however, begins to walk towards the zeta-beams. Robin, Aqualad, and Kid Flash all turn to look at him in confusion. 

"Hey! Where are you going?" Asks Robin. 

Stopping, but not turning around, Superboy replies. 

"Why do we have to listen to what the League says? They didn't say not to follow them, and it's not like we have anything better to do."

Robin and Kid Flash look at Superboy in shock, before smirking. Looking at each other, they nod, before turning to Aqualad. He sighs, smiling slightly.

"I'm sensing a pattern," he says jokingly. 

Robin cackles, while Kid Flash laughs. 

"Yeah, all we need now is a new teammate to help us beat a bunch of bad guys!"

Ask, and you shall receive.

Senior heroes POV (the Leaguers investigating the "energy source")

Batman leads the group of Leaguers through the forest where the energy source was located. Martian Manhunter, Superman, Green Lantern, and Wonder Woman following in the air, while the rest are on foot. 

Seeing them, one might wonder why so many of the League are together in such a desolate location. The reason is simple: the energy source detected was so large, readings indicated it rivaled that of Superman's power. Discovering this, the League was absolutely astonished. They realized the need to be cautious, and ready for anything in case the source of this power is a threat. Therefore, the powerhouses of the League grouped together to investigate.

Which leads to the current situation. The forest they are in is located in the countryside of Virginia. The data the League procured on the area indicates the existence of vast forest, and a farmhouse somewhere nearby. 

The reading on the energy source was detected suddenly, and without warning. However short the reading was, it was immensely powerful, enough to instill the fear that enemies might reach this source of power before the Justice League gets the chance. 

This led to the heroes grouping together to investigate, leaving their protégés at the cave. 

The heroes knew their sidekicks would not be happy about being sidelined, but they never thought they would so blatantly ignore their orders.
