Kehlani

After nearly a month of moping over the loss of Shaina, I decided enough was enough. Grabbing my phone, I dial the one number I knew would be down with the antics.

"Was' pawpin!" Ed screams into the phone, doing his best Cardi B impression.

"Please never do that again," I say, chuckling as I shake my head. "Anyways, I heard Megan is appearing at Exotic. You down?"

"Girl hell yeah! You called Noodles and Ambre?"

"I ain' got around to it yet, do it for me! Kisses, mwah xoxo bye!" I hang up the phone before he could protest.

To be honest, I kind of hate the club. Being in VIP sections isn't too terrible, but despite being able to perform to thousands on a regular basis, I'm quite the introvert. However, I'm sick of being in my house, because too many things remind me of Shaina.

And... maybe I'm looking for a pretty girl to kiss tonight.

But that's not the point.

After picking out and putting on my outfit, I shoot a quick text to Ed.

Kehlani: omw to the club. meet me in the section.

Ed: say less, scooping ambre now. noodz sitting this one out.

I walk out the door to my car, unlocking it. Sliding into the driver's seat, I put my key into the ignition as I scroll through my music trying to pick a playlist for the drive. I settle on Summer Walker's Over It, and I back out of the driveway. As I drive, I become lost in thought, remembering how I met Shaina.

It was a brisk early morning as I pulled open the door to the small tattoo shop, located in downtown Los Angeles. It came highly recommended to me by my friend Mac, so I decided to check it out. As soon as I stepped inside, my heart began to race as I was met with one of the prettiest girls I've ever seen.

"H-Hi. I'm Kehlani, I don't have an appointment, but I wanted to start to cover up the tattoos on this arm." I gesture to my left arm, and the girl smiles warmly.

"You definitely didn't have to introduce yourself; I'd recognize that beautiful face anywhere."

A blush rises on my face as I take in her words.

She smirks slightly. "I'm Shaina. I let pretty girls call me Shai though."

I laugh at her candor. "Well okay then, Shai, you're going to be doing the tattoo."

"Yeah," she smiles. "I'm gonna take real good care of you Kehlani."

The sound of a horn honking pulls me out of my thoughts, and I realize I'd been sitting at a green light for a few seconds too long. I turn into the club's parking lot, trying to force Shaina out of my mind.

Parking next to Ed's car, I step out. I wait behind his car, waiting on my friends to enter the club.

Once we were all ready, we head towards the club's back door, quietly slipping inside. The bouncer guides us to Megan's VIP section, and she bounds up to us.

"Kehlani! It's been so fuckin' long sis!" It was true, I hadn't seen her since we recorded Hit My Phone together in Houston.

"I know, I know, I fell off the grid a bit." I chuckle, grabbing her into a hug.

She stumbles a bit, and only then do I notice the bottle of Hennessy in her hand.

"Bitch, are you drunk?" I question, raising an eyebrow.
