Kevin's  Heart

  THIRD P.O.V

By the time Jazmine finished the cake it was beautiful and also time for her mom to cook dinner.

The cake was nothing too fancy but rather simple.

"Looks nice Jaz. You should open a bakery and pay me." Her mom said walking into the kitchen.

Jazmine held a confused look. "What am I paying you for?" She asked putting the cake in the fridge.

"Because I gave birth to you. And bought you the ingredients to make that cake." Her mom replied taking out pots and pans.

  "Ma."

  "Yes my darling daughter?"

  "That's not how it works."

"Yes it is. Now go tell Steve I said come here."

"You can't just changed the subject like that." Jazmine said in a playful manner.

"Yes I can. I just did it didn't I? Now go tell him what I said."

"Ok- JAMAL MAMA SAID COME HERE!" She yelled sticking her head out the kitchen entryway.

Her mom turned to her with an unreasonable expression on her face.

  "I could have did that."

"oh." Was all Jazmine said before continuing cleaning her area. "Yeah?" They both turned to see Jamez standing in the kitchen entry. Both looked at him for a few seconds before saying anything.

"Boy you look just like yo damn/dang daddy." Christey said whilst shaking her head and Jaz with a hand on her hip.

"Y'all for real? That's why you called me?"

"No that's not why. And you better watch yo mouth when taklin to me, I'm not one of you lil friends." She said with utensils in one hand and a cool-aid pitcher in the other while glaring at Jamal.

"Sorry. But like for real, what y'all need?" He asked while leaning against the entry frame of the kitchen.

"Come help me cook. Yo sister already finished her cake."

  "Oh can-"

"No! No you can not. And sorry for yelling."

"Aww c'mon sis. I let you try my cooking all the time. And no problem." Jamez said in a whiny voice trying to hug his dear sister. But unfortunately for him she kept dodging.

"BOY!! What did I tell you to do?!"

  "Here I come!"

And with that Jazmine walked out of the kitchen and back to her room.

'Japan huh? And only a year. It'll be something new and I get to travel I guess.' She thought with a small smile while plugging her phone into the charger and connecting it to her speak.

The time being 6:00 she had time, actually a lot of time, before it got dark seeing as it didn't get dark till 8:00. And it's going to be little while before her mom and brother are done cooking.

She finished a couple of questions on her homework she started earlier and cleaned her room a bit. Her room wasn't very big but not very small either. But they did change her closet into an area to put her desk into for more floor space.

She had put a few plants in it since her mom said "It's too plain." So her mom put more stuff in the room just to take up space.

She didn't really care for decorating as much as her mom and brother. She guesses that's something she gets from her dad.

Since she never got any of his visible features. He was never one to dress up or just try to make the place look extravagant either. In Jazmine's words "He's plain and boring as hell. He's more dull than watching white paint dry in 95° weather with 59% humidity."

Of course she didn't say that to him or to her mom, nope. This was a conversation with her brother.

Once she finished straightening her room up, since there was really nothing wrong with it, she went out the door and came back in to see how it looked.
