Chapter 6: under attack

Zanes prov:

I'm running as fast as I can through the Maze. What am I running from hey watch out. Ok for you to understand I have to go back to we're it first started. Music was playing in my room and I put on my headphones. And comb my hair there was someone on my mind. She lives next door man that girl is cute. Someone knocked on my door and I opened it. Alby said "Hey Zane bro spying on the new girl?" I told him shut up you know we're just friends. Alby nodded and, told me so you will be ok if the girl comes over? Looking at him saying what are you talking about? Alby looked down I looked too. The girl rang our door bell. Oh god she's here keep calm you can do this. I walked down stairs and opened the door. When I saw her my heart was beating. She moved her hair and smiled. The girl said "Hi I'm Sonya do you mind if I use your phone?" I smiled and nodded she used the phone. Sonya walked over and said "Thanks so much um can you show me around town?" Alby looked at me saying yes. I smiled and told her sure come on. We were walking for a while. Sonya looked at people wearing mask. She said "Its strange how people keep getting sick and dying." I looked at Sonya man she's smart. We kept walking and, stopped hearing something. A boy told us look who it is the adopted boy. More boys came out one grabbed Sonya. She struggled I got mad and hit them.

A boy grabbed me and I kicked them. Sonya was worried and cops pulled up. They shouted put your hands up. I did as I was told so did Sonya. The cops cuffed us and, we were put in the cop car. Man why is this happening I was put in a cell. Sonya waved to me from across. Alby and my adopted parents came over. The cops released me and Sonya got out. I got in the jeep with Alby hearing a lecture. Yes my adopted parents were mad at me. We started driving off I looked out the window. A van was driving and, coming at us fast. Alby looked and said "Dad mom we might need to get out of here now." Our dad said just let them pass. The van came faster Alby held my hand. The van hit out jeep and, we went over the bridge. Alby hit his head and I tried to get the door open. We were under the ocean. I was freaking out we're going to die! Someone was swimming to our jeep. They got the door open and,  grabbed Alby and me.

We were put in the van. I was coughing wait our parents. A girl came up to me saying I'm Teresa. Teresa said "Hey it's ok Alby will be ok I promise." She told me you will understand one day. Alby was on the hospital bed I was worried. He told me Zane don't trust them they killed our parents. I was confused and Alby  told me check those papers. I left the room and grabbed the card. Watching as the person punched in the code. Then the person left I grabbed the door and went inside. Looking around I saw laptops. Frowning I saw teenagers on the laptop. I put on headphones listening to them. Then I grabbed some papers and found pictures. Their was our parents picture with red x on them. I was mad these people killed our family. Someone tapped my arm I looked up. The boy covered my mouth I kicked him running. He jumped me and held a knife to my neck. He said "Ok look if they hear you those people will hurt you like experiments." Thinking about this I agreed I wouldn't run. The boy told me his name is Thomas. We both ran in another room. I saw a lady she said "Good take their blood sample then put them in the maze." Thomas told me these people are trying to find a cure. Following Thomas I saw teenagers in a glass thing with water. I touched it and their eyes opened. Jumping back scared I triggered an alarm. People ran over Thomas grabbed a run shooting. Teresa took my hand and said Alby was dying. Tears went down my cheek following her. I heard Thomas shouting don't trust her. Thinking about it I saw Alby they were taking his blood. I frowned as they took my blood. Then they carried me and put me in the box. I blacked out and, that's the last thing I remember.

Britt walked over to me she looked worried. She said "Look about yesterday I'm sorry. I was just jealous I don't know why." Looking at Britt I told her I know and I didn't tell on you. She sat down I said "It's against the rules to hurt anyone here we're family." I explained the way Gally taught me. Britt was shocked I told her they will banish you. Newt walked over I hugged him and walked off. Newt looked at Britt and, told her hey is there a problem? Britt bit her lip and, was about to say something. Gally saw some birds flying over he thought they were birds. Newt heard screaming and ran over there. Bats we're attacking the gladers. Gally threw Newt the spear. I watched from the hammock. The bat flew and landed on the glader. It was bitting them and the glader bleed out. I grabbed a branch and hit the bats. Britt ran and jumped into the pit hitting them.

The box came up and Newt ran over. He opened it seeing the bats coming. Newt jumped down Greenie looked at him. Newt said "Hello Greenie welcome to the glade. We're kind of in danger so will talk later here's a branch hit the bat and run." Greenie looked confused they both took off running. Minho helped the other Greenie up too. Gally said "We can't get rid of them." We all ran in the hut and were scared. The bats were hitting the hut trying to get inside. I was shaking scared Britt screamed. Newt told us hey we need to be brave alright. The bats got in and flew around us we all screamed. Britt kissed Newt and I was shocked eww. Greenie was watching and ran outside. We ran after him and frowned. Greenie ran so fast my brother Newt couldn't stop him. He shouted come on the bats went after him. Greenie ran through and almost went in the maze. Gally ran over and pushed Greenie down. The bats flew in the maze and the walls closed. Gally said "Next time I'll let you go through the maze and die."
