Lady Gisela's POV

Staying hidden using the help of a vanishing gadget our technopath has created we were listening to the Blackswan team crumble and fall apart.

After a couple of minutes, Alvar said, "We should recruit the shade and Glimmer, they will be a lot of help."

I stomped my feet twice to signal the dwarfs to stop. I wasn't going to believe this play. They hadn't raised a single point on why Tam and Glimmer are on our side.

They stopped talking, as the anger on their face slowly melted to anxiety. I turned on my heel ready to leave.

Then the Vacker girl spoke up, anger spiting in every word that fell out her mouth. "So you're taking her side? We get that you like to keep to yourself but now, you being so private it's like don't want anything to do with us. And you met her about a couple of months ago and you're picking her over people you've been with for years! Does she mean more to you than any one of us?"

I smiled with glee, there it was, true anger and a little something else I couldn't put a finger on. I stomped my foot once to signal the dwarfs to get Tam and Glimmer.

In the meeting room, every one of our members was there except for Tam and Glimmer. They all thought that we should let them join but we aren't stupid like the Blackswan, I wasn't going to let them join until they prove themselves.

"We will let them join," I said as every head turned to me. "After they prove themselves loyal to us."

Fintan, Alvar Gethen, and I stayed in the meeting room planning on how to test them. While they were focused on Glimmer and Tam, I was only focused on Tam.

Our weakest spot brings the best out of everyone. And I knew what Tam's weakest point was.

Tam's POV

Glimmer and I shared a room, she was on one side and I was on the other, only a curtain separating us.

I only had a couple of minutes to myself because Glimmer kept talking to me. She started acting weird ever since she took down her hood.

Glimmer was talking about practicing together when Gethen came in. With a harsh tone, he said, "Lady Gisela and Fintan want to see you two."

Following Gethen Glimmer and I walked through different doors made of stiff sand then we came to a thick brown door with the Neverseen symbol imprinted into it. 

Alvar, Lady Gisela, and Fintan stood around a table when we walked into the room.

"Good to see you again Tam and Glimmer," Lady Gisela said with a smile that sent shivers down my spine. "We've decided that you are worthy enough to defeat the Moonlark and Blackswan, so you are going to join the Neverseen."

Relief flooded through my whole body but it didn't last long. "But," She continued. " you'll have to prove that you're loyal to us. Do you agree to do this assignment? You cannot change your mind afterward."

A test? Knowing Lady Gisela and how she nearly killed her son, this wasn't going to be good. But I nodded anyway.

"We will attack the Blackswan when they least expect it and you, Tam, will play a huge role in the attack."

Playing a huge role in the attack didn't sound good. Nothing seemed good anymore.

When we got back to our room I made sure no one was there and I hailed Mr. Forkle using the secret device. 

When they picked up, Linh, Biana, Sophie, Fitz, Dex, and that boy rushed forward and asked questions my brain couldn't comprehend.

Ignoring all of them I said, "The Neverseen is planning on attacking you guys."

Everyone fell quiet and Mr. Forkle asked, "Mr. Tam, do you when they are planning on attacking us and where?"

"No, but they something about doing when you least expect it and they said I'm going to play a huge part of the attack."

I said goodbye and I was going to bed when Lady Gisela showed up. "Looks like now is a good time to attack."

Now? Oh no...
