This was it the moment I had been waiting for, freedom at last. As the airport doors opened, all I could feel was happiness. Even though I must look like an complete idiot walking around smiling like a lunatic, while people pass by me. people honestly haven't been more curious to find out why I'm smiling as if I won the lottery. People seemed to move as if the were swarming bees, a total chaotic nightmare. As I quickly got into a cab I couldn't help but notice the city as the cab drove by. Buildings growing from the ground, just ready for King-Kong to climb them, okay I'm a Little bit of a dork but I just can't help it. The people look so different. I purposely had asked the driver to go throughout the city even though i will be living in a small town not that far from here. Everything seemed so green, even though it started to rain lightly people weren't in a hurry as if they were used to this weather.
The building raged in sizes. There were tattoo shops next to well known stores, even office buildings. The people seemed to be immune to the weather as I drove by them. I even saw a small girl and her mother walking down the sidewalk holding on to each others hands while the little girl jumped in the puddles. i felt a small pain in my chest as the cab drove a way. In the process of leaving the city I couldn't wait to go back, the possibilities were endless. No I was not going to get a tattoo the second i got there from seeing the amount og shops, but the way people seemed to not care, to go on with their lives. I could go without having to worry someone might recognize me. It felt as if i wouldn't be found because of all the distractions the city held.
The cab driver be gins to drive slower as he drives toward my new home I can't help but see the changes now being in a small town, it might not be an ideal area but this place really wasn't noticed as much as other places like the city so it would work. suddenly a darker cloud emerged from the others blanketing the area, more rain started coming in the I realized how much I lost and how much more I could have lost. The sky roared gaining fear from those walking outside making them walk faster. the taxi was bringing too much attention in a small town, so I decided to get off early and give the taxi driver a big tip for the city drive. His eyes spoke to me more than he had, I somehow saw sadness in his eyes, probably because I had told him I had come alone to live alone in this small town. The rain hit my shoes as i walked towards my new home, dragging my bags behind me.
As walked up the driveway of the small two story house I couldn't help see every single small detail that the house had. It had a medium sized yard with flowers that bloomed in all sorts of colors earning my attention as they danced in the stormy weather. As the roaring grew louder I didn't think twice about going inside. I entered the house, a hint of vanilla filled my senses however as I walked further down the hallway it gave off a old library sent as is the house itself held a story and was filled with knowledge. I somehow felt like home a real home not like the place that I used to live in which was intoxicated with lost hopes, dreams, and a strange rose like scent .
My mind started racing with memories filled with Lucia's bright smile that could brighten anyones day. i missed her already.
The day dragged on but as the night began so did the same memories I used to dread. My brain has a complete mind of its own. It seems like the more I try to suppress memories, or push them away, apart of me slowly goes with it. It always seems like I can never really escape my past because I am so constantly reminded of it. I thought as I lay ed on my bed. Lucia made sure everything was ready for me, well at least the essentials. tears began to form in the corner of my eyes.
'I'm free. I'm finally free,' I was finally at peace even though I knew deep in side it was only for a while,my mind slowly began to grow blank and vision started to blurr as I claiming since of hope filled my veins.
*flash back*
i was in my living room in my finest dressed hand picked by my mother for another party which consisted of business men, trophy wives, and well known celebrities. they however seemed like nobody compared to the powerful business men which i knew.
i stood there awkward and feeling out of place as other kids around my age talked about their crazy adventures. their new gifts their parents had bought them without them having to ask. from the corner of my eye i saw jesse in the kitchen helping his mom every so often the door would swing open allowing me to see him the door swung open again nut this time he was smiling at me and waving. having fun he mouthed as i shook my head.
suddenly my mother appeared in front of me."lea this is blake, he is around your age thirteen to be exact. he is mr. collins oldest son", she spoke in an all too cheery voice as he attempted me closer to him. he was an average looking boy, well other than the fact the everything about him seemed perfect. his hair, his smile, even his perfectly fitted suit. everything about him screamed rich. The other boys here also had suits but not like his and the girls wore classy dresses with tights and perfect shoes. everything they wore was supposed to show what they where made of; simply how much money the had. he obviously came from a good family
" h-hi i'm lea," i stuttered out as i stook my hand out for him to shake.
" i know your mom told me. she also told me we would be great freinds", he smirked.
