Evangeline

I blinked in astonishment, my mouth fell wide open.

He was real.

I could see him, I could hear him and better yet I could even  feel him.

"What is your name?" I questioned. I needed to know who this man was. I also expected an explanation from him regarding the event that went on earlier in the week.

His face held that same blank stare he had the first time I seen him which made me shift uncomfortably.

Heat rose to my face as I remembered he was holding me in his arms once again.

His eyes quickly flicked around as if making sure no one would hear us, clearly not being phased by my embarrassment before he cleared his throat.

"My name is Ronan." He said as he loosened his grip on me.

"Ronan.." I paused for a moment as I felt the way his name rolled off my tongue. My brows knitted together while I pursed my lips.

"How do you know my name?" I inquired as I tilted my head to the side, still looking up at the man.

He was silent for a moment as if he was trying to carefully choose the words he was going to say before he rubbed the back of his neck.

I watched his chiseled features intently, his jet black hair rested effortlessly against his forehead.

He was dressed slightly differently than before, this time he looked somewhat more appropriate for a walk in the woods, instead of wearing dress clothes he was dressed in black jeans with a hoodie.

"Listen," he started which seemed to rip me out of my thoughts and put all my attention on him.

I carefully studied him as a look of concern briefly flashed over his face, "It is not safe for you here and as much as I'd love to fill you in on things I just can't." His emphasis on 'love' came off in a sarcastic tone as if he had better things to do.

My brows furrowed again in confusion and I gently pushed myself out of his grasp completely.

"You could have easily explained everything to me the first time but instead you decided to invite yourself into taking me home." I couldn't help the wave of anger that pulsed through me.

The heat once again returning to my face but this time it was out of frustration.

"You have no idea as to what I've been through the past week, no idea how h–" I cut myself off as I tried to stop myself from crying again.

I wasn't an emotional person but between being terrified, confused and all around pissed off I couldn't control the amount of tears my body produced.

Taking my eyes off him, I glanced up at the tree canopy trying to roll my eyes back before I turned my gaze to him.

Ronan seemed as though he looked deep in thought and a scowl crossed my face as I realized how calm he was about this.

"I've been through hell because of you." I spat.

He took a step closer to me, his breathing seemingly heavy.

"I'm sorry." His hot breath hit my face and I felt my scowl start to cease.

"I don't have the answers you're searching for Evangeline."

My heart sank to my stomach and my head started to hurt, it felt like I was back to square one.

I balled my fists and tore my eyes away from his, I knew he could at least give me the bare minimum but he wasn't trying.

He said it wasn't safe for me but the only danger I could sense was coming from him.
