"Kaya ko 'to."

I closed my eyes and inhaled a deep breath before knocking at the huge dark brown door in front of me. There's a metal that says, 'Mr. Antonio Galvez'.

A woman wearing a corporate attire, maybe in her 20's, greeted me with a smile.

"Yes?" She asked still smiling while holding the doorknob.

I cleared my voice. "Uhm is Mr. Galvez here?"

She nodded and guided me inside.

The smell of a man's perfume welcomes me. It was a room painted black, white, and gray. I saw some black and white paintings that added to the aesthetic of the room.

"Sir, you have a visitor." The woman informed Mr. Galvez.

Recognition formed in his eyes. Good, kilala niya ako. I gave him a small smile.

The woman guided me to seat, at senyasan siya ni Mr. Galvez na lumabas na.

"Do you want something to drink?"

I said politely not peeling my eyes from him. Before he can say anything, I cut him off by stating the reason why I'm here. "I've decided to turn down the offer. I appreciate po that you wanted to help me, but I want to do things at my own pace."

He studied me seriously. "May I know the reason? Does this have to do with my nephew?"

That caught me of guard. I cleared my throat. "No. I just want to be as independent as possible, Sir." I said looking everywhere but him.

I can see from the side of my eyes that he nodded and get back to his seat. "Very well."

It kind of shocked me that he didn't push it further, pero tingin ko mas mabuti iyon. He didn't look at me but I know he's listening.

"Thank you again for the offer. I'll be leaving."

I left not waiting for a reply.

Rude na kung rude, I did my part. Pagkaalis ko sa building I checked my phone immediately. Walang text. I was about to book a ride when an SUV stopped in front of me. As far as I know, wala akong friend na may SUV, plus hindi pa ako nakakapagbook so it's not for me.

I ignored the car and took a step backwards.

Suddenly my phone rang.

Mira calling.....

I rolled my eyes.

To: Mira

what do you want?

I heard the car in front of me beeped, which made me jumped in surprise. But to my surprise it was my best friend Mira, grinning like an idiot.
