𝐈 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 in bed for the tenth time that night, it was warm and awfully silent. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't will myself to fall asleep. A small lamp was still on and I focused my attention on the warm glowing light, maybe if I focused hard enough I would sleep. Suddenly out of the corner of my eye I noticed a woman standing by the entrance of my room, I could really only see her outline, she had wild black hair and a thin body
"She looks like a fighter Zara," the woman said softly to my mother. Many people had told her that over the course of my life, I wasn't surprised by it anymore,
"The line of Adelinde is known for being strong" my mother whispered back, I wondered if they knew I was actually awake, I made every effort to level my breathing and not to stir one bit
"Yes, I've heard, and she is, what? fifteen?" the woman asked
"Yes your reverence" my mother answered "her brother is seventeen and sleeping in the next room"
"She is awake and listening to us talk" I stiffened a bit, how did the woman know? I thought I was being quite still in fact maybe I was being too still "sly little girl" the woman chuckled "I heard she is good friends with the Atreides boy"
"Yes, they're like family" my mother replied stiffly, she wasn't a huge fan of Jessica Atreides but for the sake of our people they had to get along, she told me that they used to be friendly but along the way something happened
"Sleep well little girl, you'll need your strength for when you face my Gom Jabbar tomorrow" the door fell shut with a small click, that sounded awfully cryptic and it ensured me a night of little to no sleep.

"Wake up" my eyes opened and I immediately shielded my face from the harsh light in my room "I'm serious Mila, wake up now" my mother insisted, I slid out of bed quickly while she tore open my closet and began to sort through my clothes
"Why must I get up now?" I asked her as she threw down some of my nicest clothes
"Because Reverend Mother is awaiting" she replied "brush your hair, it's a mess" I frowned and picked up a comb, my mother was very tense this morning and there was a small hint of fear in her voice, Paul had taught me how to sense fear, you have to listen for the wavering of a voice
"What's a Gom Jabbar?" I asked, my mother, froze and turned to look at me with a grave expression that wasn't hidden well
"You'll learn about the Gom Jabbar soon," she said turning away "Reverend Mother is waiting in the morning room, go quickly she's meeting with the Atreides this morning as well" I nodded as she closed the door.
I quickly put my outfit on and brushed my hair one more time before putting it up on my head as usual. I exited the room and walked into the hallway where my mother stood whispering to my older brother Blaize who looked very serious
