House Harkonnen
"It is time," Rabban said entering the chamber of his uncle, Barron Harkonnen. "Feyd Rautha is near of age, he will soon need a wife."
"Are we sure that this is a good idea" The Barron replied "How do we even know that she is still out there"
"Her pathetic excuse for a friend fessed up and told us that she was the best fighter in their whole house, she Is still alive, trust me. The girl's mother and brother wouldn't say anything but we all know Zara will let something slip eventually "
"You'd better be right" The Barron Boomed "I'm taking a risk going after this girl, the offspring of Zara and that piece of slum"
"I will be right, the girl will be a good addition to this house, she is strong and is said to know a lot of our dear friends the Atredies"
"Stop your foolishness" The Barron yelled "The last of the Atredies are being held in our dungeons, scheduled to fight Feyd during his ceremony, none are still out there."
"Is the boy set to fight Feyd?" Rabban asked
"We will see, after all, we need the girl to comply with our wishes, and maybe she will when she finds out her dear brother is still alive. Now get out of my sight and find that girl before I change my mind."
"𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐮𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐭," Stilgar said as we were standing on the vast mountains of sand. He pulled out two backpacks and handed one to me, and one to Paul. "Here is a tent and enough food" he then pointed to a mountain of sand in the distance. "I want you to cross that small egg and come back, come by night. You know how you use a Paracombas?"
"Yes," I told him and we both nodded
"Anything else we should know?" Paul asked with a pained smile
"Besides the worms and the Harkonnens?" Stilgar chuckled "Beware of the trapdoor spiders, centipedes are very nasty, not the big ones, they are harmless. The little ones you have to worry about"
"Trapdoor spiders?" I mumbled to Paul "That sounds like a name he pulled out of his ass."
"I heard that" Stilgar snapped before returning to the topic of conversation "Oh, and do not ever, listen to the gene"
"The gene?" Paul questioned
"Gene, desert spirits, they whisper at night, they can posses you. Really, be careful, they are demons." He started intently at us "RAHHH" We both flinched a little at his random growl while he was laughing "But it's true" he continued "Don't listen to them"
"Well I guess we'd better start" I rolled my eyes and heaved the bag over my shoulder.
"Good luck" Stilgar yelled as we started to walk away. I knew that they were testing Paul because the Messiah was supposed to know the ways of the desert, but I never claimed to be a Messiah so I had no idea why I had to endure this journey too.
We continued on into the desert through nightfall when the air became cooler and a soft breeze blew the sand around. It seemed like we had been doing the sand walk forever.
As we walked I began to think of everything that had happened. How could I have lost my family and closest friends in such a short period of time. Also, why was Paul trying to prove that he was the Lisan Al Gaib or Messiah or whatever, he didn't use to care, he just wanted to help the Fremen. "This is bullshit" I panted "We've been out here all day, could Stilgar not have chosen a destination a little bit closer."
