In the early hours of the morning Josie is woken up by loud bangs coming from the backyard followed by sighs of what she can only assume to be frustration. At first she turns over and tries to get back to sleep, she even puts a pillow over her head doing her very best to ignore the noise but when she hears what sounds like muffled shouts she groans in frustration and finally gets out of bed, she rolls up the blind of her left window and looks out, at first she can't see anything thats when she puts on her glasses and when she does she's surprised to find two figures that look like her aunt Annie and her mom trying to haul a tied up man into the treehouse.
"You gotta be kidding me" she mumbles to herself moving away from the window, she moves to her closet and pulls out an oversized sweatshirt that she throws on before she all but storms her way through the silent house out to the backyard.
Neither Annie or her mom hear her approach but when they turn to find her they both let out shouts of shock before they recognise her and silence themselves. None of the women say anything for a moment, the two older women stare at Josie in something akin to horror while she herself stares at who she recognises to be Boomer tied up on the grass, she can't decide if she's more amused or confused.
"What'd he do?" Josie finally asks ending the silence turning her eyes to look toward the two other women.
"Honey it's okay, just go back...." Beth begins only to be cut off by Annie.
"He tried to rape me!" Annie exclaims her eyebrows raising at her exclamation.
"Was bound to happen one day. I called it." Josie nods in understanding before she once again turns her attention to the man on the ground "You like trying to rape women huh?" She asks rhetorically knowing he can't answer "Think it's okay to just take what you want? Well not in this household asshole" she says though her tone is sweet as sugar her words are anything but, she accentuates her point when she lifts up a bare foot and rams it straight into the one place no man ever wants to be hit.
"Whoa" Annie mutters watching on enjoying this side of her niece.
"That's not how you hog tie somebody by the way" Josie suddenly tells the two women "enough movement that's gonna get loose enough for him to escape" she says quietly enough that the man on the ground can't hear before she crouches down and begins to untie the man. At first Boomer sighs in relief thinking she's going to release him but when the ropes are off and he begins to stand she knees him in the stomach and forces him onto his front, she places a knee on the centre of his back and then she proceeds to tie him up correctly.
"Where did you learn to do that?" Beth asks in complete and utter shock at what she'd just witnessed.
"Oh a guy I dated a few years ago taught me" Josie nonchalantly replies "you gotta use rope as a lift to get him up there. There's some in the garage. Go get it and I'll help" she tells them and after what the two women had just witnessed neither of them even think to argue, Beth runs off to grab the rope while Annie stays and stares at her niece with a newfound appreciation.
By the time Beth returns with the rope daylight is just beginning to peek through the darkness so Josie and Annie both get up in the treehouse and Josie secures the rope as needed before throwing the end down to Beth, she tells the older woman how to secure the man on the rope. Once he's secured Beth joins them in the treehouse and together the three women haul the man up. By the time its done all three are sweaty and out of breath. Boomer is deposited in the centre of the wooden structure and for a moment all the women stare at him as they catch their breath.
"Can I go back to bed now?" Josie suddenly asks, more than ready to get another eight hours.
"Of course sweetie! Do you want a snack or anything first?" Beth asks reverting back into her role of doting soccer mom.
