Chapter 4 I'm Nothing Without You

Hello, Sweets. Welcome back! Sorry for the long update. I've been busy with school and work. Chapter four will pick up right after chapter three. This chapter starts with the intense argument between Roxana and Alexander over her newfound pregnancy. We will see how things unravel. There will be flashbacks of Alexander's past. "ROXANA! HOW DARE YOU! WHAT ARE YOU WORKING FOR?" Alexander slams Roxana's back against the stone wall. His hands wrap around her throat in a threatening manner.

After their confrontation in the corridor, Alexander forcefully took Roxana to her quarters for questioning. The King dismisses the servants brutally.

Roxana has not witnessed Alexander in such a state; she lost the ability to respond.

"ANSWER ME! Do not test my temper, Roxana. I will not hesitate to tear you to shreds of uncomprehensive waste. Then, your father, his people, and their fortress can become Hades's property." Alexander tightens his grip on her neck.

"...p-ple..ase...please..." Roxana begs for release.

Alexander retracted his grip and pushed her over the dressing table.

Roxana is unable to control her coughs. Her insides burn; she inhales the air greedily.

"What have you done? How could you speak about yourself and the others to my baby boy? He's but a child. You ruined him! If anything happens to my son, I will run you through with my own hands! I've protected you, and this is how you repay me. By chastising my son?!"

"I have your son, Alexander!" Roxana falls to the ground and crawls to Alexander's side. She seized his hand and placed it on her stomach. "I have your son. He's growing. He's going to be our Prince."

"Don't touch me!" Alexander revoked his arms roughly like he's been burned by fire. "I don't need a child from you. I've told you the moment you entered these walls. I only need a wife. Nothing more,"

"No! I'm your Queen! You wanted me! Alexander, I'm the representation of everything you ever worked for. My son and yours will be a symbol of everything you've fought. A mixed-blood child. Half Asian and half Macedonian. I can give you just that!"

Alexander bends down to her height. "No, you can't give me just that. You were my Asian Bride. You've served your purpose; I've been too generous with you. I gave you power, position, authority, protection, and many more to come. Why can't you repay me with the same kindness? Why must you ruin the one genuine blessing of my life? Hepheastion and Alex are everything to me! Why can't you accept their position in my heart? It came to my attention the first time you met Hephaestion. I acknowledge that you can't remain on shared grounds with him. That's my fault to take. But how dare you speak to my son like he's irrelevant. He's my heir. No other Princes will replace him. Not even yours. You purposely wanted Alex to know about the existence of your child. That's the reason you haven't informed me about the baby. I know you too well, Roxana. You want to ignite a child's hate, to create friction with Hephaestion. How childish is that thought?! As if you can exceed one of my best generals? The God of Velocity, Archery, and Forest?" Alexander compares her to a mindless freak. "You're delusional. I don't see any other soul in this Palace fetching for anything similar to you. Stateira is a true Princess of Persia. She doesn't demand anything more than she can bargain. Neither Parysatis nor any other body I lie with. Only you, Roxana. It's only you who always step out of place! Why is that relevant, Roxana?!"
