❘❘❘❘❘❘ ❛ Returning back to the past, you ended up being entangled with your one and only lover in the past whom you've sworn to yourself was someone you hate. Turn...
━─── When the bike finally slowed, you couldn't help but let out a shaky breath, half-relieved, half-terrified for what was still to come. You braced yourself, knowing Mikey's reckless streak wasn't over, but when you opened your eyes, you were met with a surprising calmness.
"Calm down, (Y/n)," Mikey muttered, his voice quiet but steady, like he was trying to reassure you, or maybe just himself.
But then you realized just how tightly you were gripping his waist, your hands practically fused to him like a goddamn octopus. Panic shot through you, and you yanked your hands away, embarrassed by how frantic you'd become.
Before you could even register what you'd done, Mikey's voice cut through the air, sharp and biting. "Idiot. Get your hands back, you wanna fall off or something?!"
Shit. You'd totally forgotten where you were for a moment, and his words hit you like a bucket of cold water. You quickly grabbed onto his shoulder, the panic starting to settle, but your heart was still hammering in your chest. You couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude as Mikey let out a relieved sigh.
"Thanks," you muttered after a while, the words sounding empty in the wake of everything that had just happened.
Mikey didn't answer at first. He kept his eyes on the road, lips pressed into a thin line. His hands gripped the handlebars tightly, and you could tell he was keeping himself in check, but the silence between you two felt... heavy. Uncomfortable.
Without warning, the bike revved up again, and Mikey pushed the speed like it was a switch he couldn't help but flip. The wind blasted against your face, and you were pulled back into the chaos.
Eventually, the bike slowed again, and your eyes widened as Mikey pulled off the road and into an area you recognized all too well. The bridge.
The same bridge where... where you jumped.
Your chest tightened, and you found it hard to breathe for a second.
"Get off," Mikey said, his voice softer this time, the coldness replaced with something unspoken. But somehow, you still felt like it was him avoiding whatever words needed to be said.
You didn't hesitate to follow his command, though every part of you was screaming to stay put. Mikey dismounted as well, his boots hitting the pavement with a dull thud. Without looking at you, he walked toward the railing and jumped up, leaning casually against it like it was the most natural thing in the world.
