Shinobi Assassins

The Assassin

        Standing above the dead samurai was a white hooded individual. The stranger just stared at the group and under his hood they could all see a smile. They were shocked that he had the audacity to smile after what he had done. He had killed these guards like they were nothing to him. The group got into battle formation and demanded that he surrender to them. The stranger just kept on smiling until they least expected it he dashed towards them. The group thought he was crazy taking then all on at once knowing there was at least 2 S-class ninjas in the group them being Naruto and Kakashi. Yet the stranger had the audacity to do it anyway. The fight quickly turned into a brawl. The stranger was highly skilled in taijutsu and would quickly disarm them. Heck he even dodged all of their ninjutsu and seemed like he was mocking them. That just made them furious at the end. Then out of nowhere the whole group fell down paralyzed. They saw that the stranger had placed paralyzing seals on them and was now tying them up. They also noticed a pair of hidden blades underneath his cloak.

        "Why did you kill the cousin of the daiymo. You monster all you have done is to cause the family pain and misery!!!!!" yelled Sakura. "Yeah, what did he ever do to you. You murderer and why are impersonating some dead old dudes who did the same thing you just did." responded Naruto.

        The man in the hood froze a bit and asked them a question. "How do you know of the Assassin Brotherhood and why do you assume that I am impersonating one," asked the hooded man.

        "Well having a big furball living in you has its perks," said Naruto ignoring the growling sound Kurama was making, "besides he told me the Rikudo Sennin once had a debate with someone who called himself the mentor. Also, are you saying that you are an actual assassin. That is ridiculous that group was wiped out a long time ago."

        "Never assume anything, Naruto Uzumaki and yes I know who you are. You embrace our ideals without realizing it and embody them better than any assassin could. As for the mentor comment that meant the Sage was having a debate with one of our leaders. We were never wiped out we just went underground. As for why I did this, killing is never easy but freedom must come at a price. Before you ask remember this nothing is as it seems young one. There is a war coming. Greater than any that has ever been seen before. Even the war against the Akatsuki pales to this upcoming conflict. At the end the fate of humanity will lie in the balance. Naruto Uzumaki what will choose peace or order. You decide for yourself. Will you put Konoha first or mankind. One last thing Uzumaki, beware of the men with the red cross. Ja ne." spoke the man before jumping out the windows with his back facing the window. 

        "Uhm, Kakashi-sensei are you going to get us out," spoke Sakura and Naruto at the same. 

        "Huh? Did you say something," responded Kakashi.

        Shikamaru could only think of one answer to this dilemma. "How troublesome," said Shikamaru. He could only think that only with Naruto a mission go from simple murder investigation to discovering a member of an order once thought wiped out to the fact that said member predicted that a war was coming. Why did Naruto have to be soooo troubleosome he thought.

        After several minutes they finally got themselves free. They all thought how urgent that tell the news to the Hokage. They just couldn't believe that some centuries old group was still around and responsible for several murders across the great nations. They had to declare this mission a failure and head to back to Konoha. 

        After a few days journey, the group was back in Konoha. The first thing they did was head towards the Hokage's tower. The news they had was of the upmost importance. The receptionist told them that they could enter as the Hokage was not busy. They opened the door ony to sweatdrop when they saw that Tsunade as napping holding an empty bottle of sake. Of course she was doing this instead of doing official business.

        "Baachan!" yelled Naruto. "Stupid Gaki why did you have to wake me up form my nap!" yelled back Tsunade. "Well don't you see we came back from the mission you old hag!" argued back Naruto. " Who you calling old gaki!" The arguement continued for several minutes until Kakashi coughed to get back their attention. Both Naruto and Tsunade grinned sheepishly.

        " Now that I have your attention Lady Hokage I must tell what we discovered during our investigation into the murder," spoke Kakashi. "Well what is it?" asked Tsunade. "Well the thing is you may not believe it," continued Kakashi. "Well what is it?" questioned Tsunade. "Turns out all these murders of lately are all connected," Kakashi told her. "How explain," Tsunade demanded. "Turns out they were all perpetrated by a group of legend that was thought to have been wiped out. The murderer said that he was an assassin. No not that assassin, an Assassin as in the group that was from the time of the Rikudo Sennin. The Assassin was very well armed and defeated us in less than a minute. His taijutsu and kenjutsu skills were beyond belief. I think only Gai and Lee could have keep up with him. He told us that his group were especially interested in Naruto. We were told that they believed that Naruto was an Assassin in all but name. I found that highy disturbing. Naruto was also challenged in where his loyalties lied in Konoha or with humanity. We were told to be ready for a war that was coming. That war is said to pale the war we just fought. One final thing he said was beware of the men wearing the red cross." Kakashi explained.

        "That is disturbing news Kakashi but I wonder how Jiraiya never told us of them. Anyway we must now keep this to ourselves . You may believe it or not but I too have heard of this group. When I was growing up jiisan and sensei would always tell me stories. There was always one story that I would always rememeber. It was of a war between two groups. Long ago before chakra was discovered there was a holy war over a region said to contain holy sites. The war that followed was brutal and atrocities were commited left and right. Among the armies that were fighting there were two groups. One was called the Knights Templar while the other were the Hashishin. The Templars were more numerous and better equipped but the Hashishin had one advantage. They were masters of stealth. It was said that they would kill their target only to dissappear in the crowd as if they were ghosts. If you were there target then you better have had your will already written. There was no way for you to come out alive once you were targeted. This was the time of theri greatest leader known as Altair ibn La-Ahad. Eventually from a huge army from the east came and destroyed their bases of operation. After their destruction the Templars were next. They were accused of being religious heretics and hunted down. Thus the two groups were lost to history. Yet rumors persisted of their survival. In fact legend tells of one Assassin who helped bring a revolution by taking on the army of the anti-revolution faction. Hard to believe that the legends of their continued existance are true and that the Templars are also around. When those two groups fought according to the legends the foundations of whole countries were shaken. The two groups were said to be uncompromising in their beliefs and ideals. I fear that if these two groups are back then all the great hidden villages will be dragged in."

        "That isn't very good for anyone. That conflict could leads many innocents to die who have no role in their little war. Besides the fact that the whole political status quo could be ruined. Unnecessary could arise from this. So all that fighting the Juubi will have been for nothing. The death of our comrades all in vain. How troublesome," Shikamaru sighed.

        "But what can we do. The man said it himself, they all work in the shadows. It will also be pretty hard to find them if they have hid themselves for centuries. If no one could find them back then then how easier will it be for us. They are better in hiding in the shadows than even ROOT or the Akatsuki and those two groups thrived in the shadows. So apparantly their little war will happen and there is nothing we can do," spoke Kakashi.

        "Oh, but there is a thing you can do."
