There was smoke every where. I was beginning to feel dizzy. Everyone was screaming and running and everything was on fire. I couldn't breathe and was in a futile battle of survival with nature. Then I heard that voice again, rough like gravel, "Zelcahlay, Come home, Zelcahlay" I turned," Who are you?" Then I sighted a gleaming jewel in some kind of weird pale diamond/ glass colour and as I reached forward to touch it, there was a flash of light-
BEEP BEEP BEEP
I woke up with a start and a confused glance at my alarm clock. It had been going off for thirty minutes. It was 7:30 and school starts at 8:00. Shit! I'm gonna be late.
I rushed through my morning routine and since my aunt had already gone to work, I didn't have to worry about her pushing me to eat a balanced diet, as usual. I picked up my bike and literally fled to school.*In School*
"Oh. Look who the cat dragged in" I dropped my bag and was panting heavily, I could almost swear I lost like 20 pounds riding that demonic bicycle halfway across New York City.
" I'm so sorry I'm late sir. I had to ride my bike to get here." Then I hurriedly scrambled to my seat beside Renée, A.K.A my literal ride-or-die. She was an exchange student for over a year before deciding to become a full student of WagerFrost High School (WFHS) herself. She used to have a funny accent which I found very amusing but its gone. But lemme tell you, honest to God, I love this girl.
"Isn't it high time you got a car Michelle?" Renée asked with a teasing smirk. I glared at her in 'I don't have money' and she giggled and we tried to focus on the lessons that the WFHS teachers were so determined to teach today.*After School*
"Hey! Let's get some Starbucks" Renée said as she emphatically slammed her locker shut beside me. "And lemme guess, $15.00 croissants that are never 'French enough' for you?" I said, closing my locker and walking out ahead of her to attach my bicycle to the back of her Rangerover."They are never the right texturé. It is très terrible ! " she proclaimed very irritated by the memory but that wasn't gonna stop me from ordering them and she knew it and that's why we're best friends.
