It was the night of another thrilling heist. The infamous Phantom Thief was at it again. He has been wreaking havoc for almost a year now. Swiftly stealing something almost every night.

Detective Shuichi Saihara has faced his biggest challenge yet trying to catch this criminal. He gets so close but the thief still manages to get away every time.

This time I'll get him for sure!

That's what he thought before each heist. But ultimately that never happened. Each time he was just left with so many unanswered questions about the thief and his motives. Shuichi was always curious about what kind of person lies under that little mask.

Tonight's heist was different than usual though. Shuichi was chasing after the little trickster. The thief had a very expensive artifact in his hand.

Once they were away from everyone else Shuichi took out his gun, that was never loaded and aimed it at the thief.

"Stop right there Phantom Thief," Shuichi said raising his voice a bit.

Usually, the thief would stop immediately. But this particular night he only stopped for a second before taking off again.

"Not happening, catch me if ya can Mr. Detective," he shouted while running like the wind.

Shuichi chased after him a little confused.

What's the point of running when you usually never do? What do you have planned Phantom Thief?

He chases the thief until they reach the roof.

Up there the view of the night sky was simply breathtaking. It was a warm summer night with a cool breeze flowing. The moon was shining bright like the sun. The stars sparkled as well.

Shuichi looked back over at the thief to see that his cape was almost flying with the wind.

"You got nowhere to run now Phantom Thief, or should I say Kokichi Ouma?" Shuichi said.

He figured out the thief's identity not too long ago. The thief takes off his mask and drops it on the ground. Then he starts slow clapping.

"Bravo Mr. Detective, bravo," Kokichi said with a slight smirk. "Are ya gonna turn me in now? End my life of crime? Or maybe finally shoot a bullet out of that gun into my head?"

"No, I don't want to kill you. Besides over the past year, our game of cat and mouse has been intriguing," Shuichi answered.

"Then what're ya gonna do?" Kokichi questioned.

Shuichi gave a small shrug.

"Maybe we could have a little chat?" he suggested.

"About what?" Kokichi asked tilting his head.

"I can tell something is up," Shuichi stated.

"Oh?"

"You would usually stop instead you continued to run. Any reason? Do have something up your sleeve?"

Kokichi gave a small shrug and put his hands behind his head. He walked over to the railing, enjoying the view. Shuichi walked over and stood next to him.

"The view is nice don't cha think?" Kokichi asked.

"Yeah, it is," Shuichi responded.

They both stood there in comfortable silence. Shuichi glanced over at the thief for a second. During that time he saw that the trickster's eyes were glossed over for some reason. He had very faint bags under his eyes. They where were mostly covered up by makeup. His face also looked the tiniest bit tear-stained.
