There was a buzz in my head. Stumbling I started walking, step by step. It seemed like I had been walking for hours but it had only been 5 minutes.

Turning around I could see the tree which cushioned my fall. I should be grateful towards the tree, I thought to myself, eyeing the cut on my leg. There was a teasing pain but nothing I cannot handle.

It seemed like the island was abandoned. After some time I found a small lake. I stooped low for a sip. At that time water felt like treasure. We take care of treasure and preserve it so with that in mind I started looking for something to use as a tumbler. After searching for some time I did not find anything, disappointed. I ducked into the water to wash my face but something was shining there. taking my face out of the water I wondered if I hallucinated. dipping my face inside again I leapt towards it grabbed it and quickly came back to the surface. Examining it I could immediately tell that it was an iron tumbler. It did not have rust on it therefore it wasn’t in the water for a long time. and if there was life on this island I needed to find it.

Running towards my right I couldn’t see anything but the more I ran I could see footsteps and stone articles on the ground. After a while, I got tired and sat on a rectangular stone for some rest but what I didn’t know was that I would fall asleep there.

I woke up breathing heavily. All I saw was a cottage made of sticks. There was ointment on my leg wound. groaning I stood up and walked outside to find that many people were dancing, cooking, reading and what not!

Women with dark brown curly hair settled me and gave me food. I was starving I felt like I had not eaten for many weeks. Ouch! I said touching my wound. The curly-haired woman said

“Sir, please don’t waste the ointment we don’t have much left, Hank would have to make a second round to the mainland this year”

“Sorry, and what may I call you”

I said sheepishly

                   “Anne”

she said

“You can call me Anne”

“I am Delma”

I said

I started wolfing down the food given to me that when a  girl started staring at me I asked if she wanted the food denying she came running handed me my clothes and gave me a big hug. it was a white long shirt and cream pants.

I loved it here so far, I had found the peace I wanted in my life,  maybe this was a blessing in disguise and who knows what this place holds for me.
