Sonic Forces: Episode Synergy

Infiltration

Another firefight, another battle, another war, another
mission. This was supposed to be a simple scouting mission. Get in Eggman's lab, gain some Intel, get out. At least, that's how it was supposed to go.

Synergy saw gunshots and bullets fly above her head. She whimpered, "I'm dead," As she peeked out from the trench she was hiding in. She saw dozens of Eggman robots slowly marching closer to her position. She gripped her wispon in her hand and fired off a few shots at the metal monsters. It didn't do much, just barely stunning one of them. She sunk back into her trench, and started to weep. She'd called for reinforcements a while ago, but no one showed up.

"Hey kid! Heads up!" The familiar and ever so iconic voice of the one, the only, Sonic the Hedgehog. Synergy tilted her head up as she saw the blue blur jump from one of the nearby rooftops. As he landed, he struck a pose, and Synergy thought it was the coolest thing she'd ever seen. Sonic quickly dispatched the group of Eggman robots and with the last defeated he walked over to Synergy's position, dusting himself off.

"Not too shabby, eh?" Sonic boasted, reaching down into the trench for Synergy. She grabbed Sonic's hand, and was hoisted out of the pit onto regular ground.

"You're not much of a talker, are you?" Sonic asked, chuckling a bit. Synergy smiled and responded, "N-no not really sir."

"Oh don't start with all that sir nonsense. Just call me Sonic. And I heard that you had a mission that needed a bit of help. Well, the help has arrived!" Sonic was quite optimistic and happy for being in all out war with Eggman.

"Yeah si- I mean, uh, Sonic. I was supposed to infiltrate Eggman's base, but was ambushed by those egg-robos," Synergy said, motioning to the, now destroyed, Eggman robots. Sonic nodded and responded, "Well then, let's get going!"

"I would, but uhm...the entrance was locked down when I was noticed on the scanners, sorry," Synergy chuckled, embarrassed. 'Sonic would never have been caught,' she thought.

"No it's fine! I'll just quickly bust down the door!" Sonic smiled, and grabbed Synergy's hand, taking her over to the entrance.

"Wanna watch me work my magic?" Sonic asked, as he revved up his super peel-out. Synergy smiled and nodded. Sonic slammed into the door, and bust it down, creating an entrance. Sonic rubbed his head and stepped out of the way to let Synergy inside, "After you, partner."
