Sonic Forces: Episode Synergy

Escape

Sonic held Synergy in his arms. He glanced down at the fox, who was unconscious. He frowned as he saw the crystal in her chest.

"Don't worry kid, we'll be out of here in no time!" Sonic said, running through Eggman's base. He wasn't the type of person to leave a fellow resistance member behind. Eggman robots fired at the two as they escaped. Sonic threw Synergy into the air, homing attacked a robot, and grabbed Synergy as she fell.

"Oh come on," Sonic groaned as they came to a standstill. A large Eggman machine stood in front of them. It had a cannon for one arm, and a hand for the other. Eggman flew down in his Eggmobile and laughed.

"You're not getting away this time, Sonic!" Eggman yelled, activating the machine's weapon systems. The cannon aimed down at Sonic and Synergy. Sonic scoffed and side stepped the blast. Eggman groaned and spun the cockpit around, trying to grab Sonic and Synergy. He failed. Sonic ran past Eggman, and saw a large door.

"That's got to be the exit!" Sonic yelled, smiling widely.

"Infinite! Stop them!" Eggman yelled to an unseen foe. A black and red flash enveloped Sonic's vision for a second, and in the way of the door stood Infinite.

"You!" Infinite said, pointing a finger at the hedgehog.

"Infinite?" Sonic asked, skidding to a stop. Eggman's mech stepped up behind Sonic, stopping him from escaping.

"Hahaha! Now you can't escape!" Eggman yelled. While Sonic was distracted, Infinite sent a ball of pure negative chaos energy at him, damaging Sonic...he dropped Synergy and grunted.

"Ow!" Sonic yelled. Eggman grabbed his lifelong nemesis and ordered Infinite, "Dispose of the fox."

"Yes sir," Infinite stepped forward and picked up Synergy. He glanced down at her chest, and saw the Phantom Ruby prototype.

"Hm...actually, I've got a better idea," Infinite teleported away, taking Synergy with him. Eggman chuckled and dropped Sonic, "I have what I want, now get out of here."

Sonic frowned and ran out of the door, without Synergy.
