Chapter 1

"Hey, why don't you girls stay awhile? He's anyway so boring he could kill us," Jasmine said as Josh looked at her.

"Are you out of your mind?! They're 13," Josh said as Maya sat down next to Jasmine.

"Don't see why not. And for your information, your niece is 13. I'm 14. Who plays?" Maya asked pointing to the guitar in the corner.

"I do," Andrew said as Maya smiled.

"Wow that's cool," Maya said as Josh looked at her.

"Since when do you know so much about music instruments?" Riley asked.

"You know surprisingly much when your great-grandmother is May Clutterbucket," Maya said as Josh looked at her.

"Good grieve. Then talent has to run in your family then," Jasmine said as Maya nodded.

"In the Matthew family as well with my uncle over here," Riley said.

"Oh really? He and Maya are going to sing something then," Charlotte said as Josh looked at them.

"You people are stir crazy," Josh said standing up.

"Sit down," Jasmine/Charlotte/Andrew said as Josh sat down.

"Sit down next to him," Riley said as Maya sat down next to Josh unsure what would happen.

She saw as Riley whispered something in Andrew's ear as he started to play causing her to smile. Maya shook her head as she looked at Josh while she started to sing.

Maya and Josh looked at each other as Maya looked away and looked at Riley. She saw a satisfies grin on Riley's face as she stood up rushing out of the college dorm.

"Maya," Josh said surprised at her reaction.

Josh looked at Riley as he went out of the college dorm seeing that Maya was sitting outside on a bench with her face in her hands as he sat down next to her.

"Go away," Maya said not moving position.

"Not until you've told me what's going on," Josh said.

Maya exhaled as Josh touched her hands moving them away as she looked at him.

"What's going on?" Josh had asked again as Maya exhaled.

"Nothing," Maya said as she exhaled.

"It can't just be nothing that drove you to that," Josh said as Maya exhaled thinking for a second about her response.

"Can we go home?" Maya asked as Josh nodded.

"Yeah. Riley, let's go. I'm taking you girls home," Josh said.

"Okay then," Riley said as the 3 of them went back home.

"I don't care who says what but someone has to take responsibility for this. So who's idea was it?" Topanga asked while everyone looked at her.

Of course finding out about the whole sneaking out thing, Topanga was mad. Her daughter was her everything while it seemed like Cory was going to leave it in her hands. Josh had looked how his sister-in-law had interrogated both Maya and Riley while neither said a word.

"Mine," Maya said as Riley looked at her.

"Okay then. And what are you going to do about this? Are you going to change anything about yourself?" Topanga asked as Maya shook her head.

"Mrs. Matthews, I am who I am. There isn't any use in trying to hide that. I'm Maya Hart. And I'll always be that," Maya said.

"You could have gotten hurt," Josh said as Maya had looked at him.

"I wouldn't have," Maya said.

"What if you had turned into the wrong room and didn't find me but someone else? Maya, some college guys are brutal and don't care about something like an age difference. They really don't. So I honestly need you to not do that again," Josh said.

"Okay. I won't," Maya said as Cory smiled.

"I'll let it slip this time but just because I knew you girls were safe. Next time you won't get as lucky," Cory said.

"Thank you, Sir. And I am sorry about what happened," Maya said.
