Maya exhaled as she was sitting on the couch as she was waiting for the huge shout off. She knew last night was barely a reaction from Riley's parents but she didn't know what was supposed to happen next. Josh came out of his room as he saw the blonde girl sitting aside while he exhaled and sat down next to her waiting for her to do something which never came.

"You okay? You seem quiet," Josh said.

"I messed up so badly, didn't I?" Maya asked as Josh could hear the tears in her voice.

"You messed up, yeah. But I don't think it was that bad," Josh said as Maya lowered her face into her hand.

"Good grieve! Why am I like this? Why am I constantly on a mission to cause trouble?" Maya asked.

"Hey, you were trying to send me a message. And that's clear. I'm just sorry I never got it. It's okay, Maya. It really is okay. Don't beat yourself up over it," Josh said as Cory came out.

"Everything okay?" Cory asked.

"Maya thinks she's messed up so badly you guys are going to disown her," Josh said as Cory's eyes went wide.

"Maya, you messed up yeah, but I will never do that to you. We got a fright when we heard about it all but we'll never push you away. Stop punishing yourself," Cory said.

"And if I can't help it?" Maya asked.

"Shake it off then. It's not your fault, honey and it never will be," Cory said.

"So her behavior this morning was kinda shocking," Josh said as Cory looked over to where Maya and Riley were talking in the bay window across the living room.

"You couldn't just have allowed her to talk? For goodness sake, Josh. A three year age difference isn't that bad. Not so bad that a girl has to sneak off to NYU," Cory said as Maya looked at how the older man was talking to his younger brother.

"Well I'm sorry if it was so idiotic..." Josh said as he saw how Maya stood up and left the apartment.

He had exhaled knowing everything was falling apart but not knowing what would necessarily happen to everyone. He had known about Maya's feelings for a bit but he didn't know if he was prepared to let it all in. Not while he knew he would return to Philadelphia.

"Okay I think that's enough. No more talking about the sneak off or even the whole situation with the age difference. Maybe I just need time to figure out what's going on. Maya doesn't need to run off each time we get into an argument about that. It's unnecessary and unpleasant," Josh said as he had left the apartment.

Maya exhaled as she had sat at a park looking through her notebook while she tried to find the best possible distraction that there was. Although she had a blast singing with Josh the other night she had known that she had messed up so badly she could barely see her curly hair. She exhaled as she picked up her guitar and saw as Josh walked towards her causing her to smile at the familiar face.

"Hey," Maya said as Josh sat down next to her.

"Hey. What you doing out here on your own? I was dead sure I would have found you at the apartment this morning, but Cory told me he hadn't seen you in a couple of days. You okay?" Josh asked as Maya nodded knowing Josh was concerned.

"After everything, I thought it would be good to give the Matthews a bit of a break. Plus I also needed it as well as some time with my family," Maya said.

"Your parents?" Josh asked as Maya looked at him.

Maya had certainly now known Josh wasn't going to judge her based off her history with her father, but it still did frightening her thinking that it could happen in a bad way causing her to clam up about it a lot.

"Yeah kinda," Maya said as she had started to play the chords on her guitar.

"That's good," Josh said.

"Let's start at the very beginning. A very good place to start. When you read you begin with A-B-C. When you sing you begin with do-re-mi. Do-re-mi, do-re-mi. The first three notes just happen to be. Do-re-mi, do-re-mi. Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti. Doe, a deer, a female deer. Ray, a drop of golden sun. Me, a name I call myself. Far, a long, long way to run. Sew, a needle pulling thread. La, a note to follow sew. Tea, a drink with jam and bread. That will bring us back to Do (oh-oh-oh), a deer, a female deer. (Ray), a drop of golden sun. (Me), a name I call myself. (Far), a long, long way to run. Sew, a needle pulling thread. La, a note to follow Sew. Tea, (a drink with jam and bread). That will bring us back to doe. A dear, a female dear. Ray, a drop o golden sun. Me, a name I call myself. Far, a long, long way to run. Sew, a needle pulling thread. La, a note to follow sew. Tea, a drink with jam and bread. That will bring us back to do. Do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do. So-do! When you know the notes to sing. You can sing most anything. When you know the notes to sing. You can sing most anything. Doe, a deer, a female deer. Ray, a drop of golden sun. Me, a name I call myself. Far, a long, long way to run. Sew, a needle pulling thread. La, a note to follow sew. Tea, a drink with jam and bread. That will bring us back to do. Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do. Do-Ti-La-So-Fa-Mi-Re. Do-Mi-Mi. Mi-So-So. Re-Fa-Fa. La-Ti-Ti. Do-Mi-Mi. Mi-So-So. Re-Fa-Fa. La-Ti-Ti. That will bring us back to. So-Do. (Re) La-Fa. (Mi) Mi-Do. (Fa) Re. (So) So-Do. (La) La-Fa. (Ti) La-So-Fa-Mi-Re. Ti Do - oh - oh. So-Do."

Maya smiled as she had put her guitar down as she had noticed how Josh had moved closer to her. Gently gripping the back of her head, Josh had pulled Maya close into him causing their lips to crash into a soft and passionate kiss. She didn't pull away; she wanted to take full advantage of the opportunity. She started to kiss him back softly and gradually started to kiss him more passionately before he pulled away.

"Cory was right. Three years is nothing," Josh admitted softly.

"Told you," Maya softly whispered.
