Time felt still as I seemed to be reliving the same day over and over again, simply fishing for loose change in the Regent's park fountain like always. However, this day happens to be one of the most memorable days of my life.
My daily task was suddenly interrupted by an alarmed Jasper.
" Y/N! Y/N get over here!"
" What" I said, still concentrating on the specks of silver and copper.
" There's a girl laying on the other side of the fountain."
" You mean like a dead-"
" No, Horace. I do not mean a dead girl."
" She's probably just asleep." My curiosity began to sky rocket as I followed Jasper.
The first thing I noticed was the eccentric yet beautiful outfit the girl was wearing. Her face was covered by a small scruffy dog, so it was hard to tell what age she was.
The whirlwind of thoughts and observations came to a halt as the once peaceful girl sprung up in shock.
" Who are you? Stay back!"
" Calm down girl," Jasper started to reassure. "We're not here to hurt you."
She stood unconvinced.
" Where are your parents?"
" I bet she doesn't have any."
Jasper's snide remark did not ease any of the fear in her eyes.
" Hey! What the bloody hell are you doing there?!"
I squinted in the distance to see a trio of police men charging at us.
" Run."
Something in me commanded me to go against my usual instinct of listening to Jasper.
I turned towards the girl, and despite the ocean of anxiety pooling up inside me, I put on a serene face.
" Come with us. Trust me."
