"I gather you all here to announce some very devastating news..." a Jiang Disciple announced. The Jiang Clan held a meeting but, there was something wrong, there sect leader wasn't there. The sect leader always attends meetings, so this was confusing.
Through out the week, they haven't seen the Sect leader at all. He wasn't in anyone's sight, this confused the Jiang Clan, including Jin Ling.
"Whats so important that we have to cut our training? Sect Leader Jiang will be angry!" A Jiang disciple shouted. "Its about Sect Leader Jiang" Jiang Cheng's right hand man walked into the room. The right hand man usually looked happy, but this time he was angry, very angry. People grew worried, the juniors, to the elders.
"What's wrong with sect leader?" A Disciple asked. The right hand man took a deep breath. He stared at the room as tears fell down his eyes. Everybody looked at him with wide eyes. They all suspected something terrible had happened to their Sect Leader. They immediately grew worried.
"This world is a cruel place!!" The right hand man yelled as he slammed the table. "Our Sect Leader has been assassinated! someone killed our sect leader!!!" He yelled loudly, his voice echoing throughout the halls. Everyone looked at him with wide eyes.
"Bullshit! Zhang-Wei!! Our leader has fought through many challenges alone! including death! Why would he die!?" A elder yelled. Zhang-Wei, or the right hand man turned and looked at the elder. Zhang-Wei bit his lip as he clutched his fist.
"I saw him walk into his inn, He was only one there. After 20 minutes I came over too give him his lunch.. and.. I-" Zhang-Wei clutch his fist harder, everyone in the room knew what he was going to say next. Tears rolled down their eyes as Zhang-Wei slowly speak the words they all didn't want too hear.
"I saw blood where Sect Leader was sitting and... I picked up his purple ribbon that was covered in blood..." Zhang-Wei cried as he pulled out Jiang Cheng's purple ribbon that was suppose too be in his hair. The Jiang Disciples couldn't believe what he had just said. Their sect leader is dead? Some burst out of the room, others stared blank, most sat there with tears in their eyes.
"what are we gonna do?" Zhang-Wei sigh as tears rolled down his eyes and splashed on the table.
The Yunmeng Jiang Clan decided not to tell anyone unless it was necessary. So they kept it a secret for weeks. They thought it would be fine, but then Zhang-Wei realised that the discussion conference was tomorrow. How could he forgot? Was it due to his depression?
Zhang-Wei was conflicted wether or not too show up. After what happened to their Sect Leader, he couldn't care less about the conference because he had another thing to work on.
How could he tell Jin Ling?
The discussion was held at Gusu. And as soon as the discussion conference started, everyone in the room were surprised not too see the sect leader of Yunmeng there. One person who was somewhat confused and worried was the sect leader of Gusu. Yes, a Sect Leader from the most noble clan is worried. The reason why he was worried because he had the Sect Leaders nephew. Sect Leader was suppose to come and pick him up at the conference.
"Zewu-Jun, where is my uncle?" Jin Ling asked looking all high and mighty. All the Leaders looked at Jin Ling, actually, they were going too ask him about the sect leader.
"He will not be joining the conference I'm afraid." Zhang-Wei silently spoke as he walked into the conference room with a few other disciples. Jin Ling's eyes widen as he looked at his uncle's right hand man. In fact, everyone had the same reaction as the youth.
"I apologise for disturbing you're meeting, I'm just here to take Young Master Jin to Lanling Jin." the right hand man said with a heartwarming smile on his face. Jin Ling immediately disagreed. "No way am I going back!" Jin Ling shouted across the room. Zhang-Wei's smile remained on his face as he looked at Jin Ling. "Young master Jin, lets go." Zhang-Wei bowed. Jin Ling was not giving up. "No! I won't go unless Uncle tells me to!" Jin Ling shouted as he crossed his arms and looked away from Zhang-Wei. "Where is uncle anyways?" Jin Ling asked as he glared at Zhang-Wei.
"Aaah.. um.. well.." Zhang-Wei's smile turned into a frown. He stuttered as he didn't want too tell this news to anyone. He wanted to wait for a good moment to tell. Because Zhang-Wei knows that the Sect Leaders are having difficulty with the corpses that are roaming around.
"I'm not going to Lanling! Tell Uncle I'm not goi-" Jin Ling got cut off by Zhang-Wei. "Young Master Jin, we must be going as dogs are not prohibited in Gusu." Zhang Wei pointed at Fairy who was running around Gusu. Jin Ling's eyes grew wide as he ran outside. "Running is also not prohibited, Young Master Jin." A Lan elder spoke. Jin Ling nodded as he walked outside and chased after Fairy.
"Zhang Wei, if you don't mind me asking, where is Sect Leader Jiang?" A minor clan leader asked. Zhang Wei wanted to walk out immediately but that would be considered rude. The disciples kept on tapping Zhang Wei indicating not to tell the Leaders. Zhang Wei smiled at he clan leader and bowed.
"Please continue." Zhang Wei said coldly as he walked out, followed by the disciples. The sect leaders were speechless, no answer? Lan Qiren, who was hosting the conference brushed off the subject and started the conference.
Everyone was listening too the discussion, but only one person was silent, Lan Xichen. As soon as the meeting started, he didn't speak at all. He was thinking, the others thought he was thinking about the corpses so they let him be. But he was thinking about something else, someone else...
'Jiang Cheng'
"Zhang Wei! I don't want to go back to Lanling Jin! please reconsider, I'm sure Uncle will understand!!" Jin Ling yelled but it was too late, they had arrive at the entrance of Lanling. Jin Ling groaned as they got closer to the Koi Tower. "I'M NOT GOING!!" Jin Ling shouted as he ran away from the building. Zhang Wei wasn't mad, as he is a very patient man.
"Young master, Sect Leader Jiang is feeling unwell, So please go to Lanling Jin, we will get you in a week." Zhang Wei said with a smile on his face, this smile was not his heartwarming smile, it was a sad smile. All the disciples looked down in shame and guilt.
"Young Master Jin, you do not want to upset anyone right?" A Disciple quietly said. Jin Ling stopped running. He looked at the people behind him and groaned. He knew they had a good reason why he shouldn't go back, but to be honest, he hated the Sect.
After what happened at Guanyin Temple, he felt guilty going back there. But of course, since he is the heir of Lanling Jin, he usually goes there too study. Although, most of the time he plays. But he feels lonely, very lonely.
"Okay, I'll go. But you better keep you're word!" Jin Ling shouted as he ran back to the group with Fairy running behind him. "We will, Young Master Jin" Zhang Wei smiled. Jin Ling huffed as he entered Koi tower.
'Atleast I'm not going night hunting again.'
"Zhang Wei, are you going to tell him as soon as he comes back to Yunmeng?" A disciple asked as they were walking back to Yunmeng. Zhang Wei stopped and looked at the disciples.
"I'm afraid so" Zhang Wei continued walking. "But I am worried for him, He is the only person who has the shares the same blood as Sect Leader. Which means he is the next heir for Yunmneg" Zhang Wei spoke as his walking became out of sync. "Which means he would have to lead both Yunmeng and Lanling right!?" A disciple asked. They were all starting to understanding what Zhang Wei was implying. Zhang Wei simply nodded as his walking slowly went back to sync with the other disciples.
How he wished he had a idea of what to do.
