Chapter 1.

Lydia;

I watched as my best friend Ross mourned over the death of his parents that had recently got hit in a really bad car crash. Everyone was devastated, I was shocked by this, why did this have to happen to a perfectly happy family?

It's been over almost 2 weeks now and the whole Lynch family still doesn't know what to do, everyone thinks it's best to quit the band their in which is called r5, Riker hasn't came out of his room in the past few days, Rydel comes down once in a while just to eat,

I haven't seen Ryland nor Rocky in a while the only time I've seen them really is when they go to the bathroom. And Ellington well he went back home and he sometimes comes over to check on them, especially his girlfriend Rydel. And now here I am comforting my friend Ross who has taken it harder, he was close to his parents especially his mom.

It all happened on Ross' 19th birthday which was the worst day possible for it to happen, they were actually on their way to surprise Ross from their trip when a huge semi truck hit them causing their death. I hate seeing everyone this way, it's quiet too quiet I can't stand this no longer, I miss the old Lynch family with a bunch of smiles and laughs but now it's dead here no sound at all.

"Do you want me to leave?" I look down at Ross

He opens his eyes and their bloodshot red from crying so much, I hate seeing my best friend this way "No please stay, I need you here" he tells me softly

I nod and begin to rub his blond hair as he shuts his eyes closed again

"Lydia" he croaks his eyes still shut "Why do bad things happen to good people?" He questions and my heart sinks.

"I-I don't know Ross" I stutter and a tear falls from my cheek

A/N

Hey guys so a while back I had a story similar to this but I deleted it because I felt like it wasn't going anywhere so I made this one with a different plot, the book was called 'The Broken Five' and I had a few people pm asking me why I deleted it and I promised them I'd make another one but similar so here it is:)

Oh and also I'll post the flashback of how it all happened in the next chapter so don't worry. And I'm sorry if you guys get confused the main characters are Ross and Lydia this is just the beginning for them.

Please comment what you thought about this, and yes I know it's such a sad story so get some tissues ready because it's gonna get much more sadder ha.
