Chapter 5

Ross;

"Breakfast is ready!" My mom yells from the kitchen

All of my siblings and I rush downstairs and sit down at the table as my mom serves our plates, I smile at her and take a bite out of my pancake but then there's loud banging on the door, I look over at my mom and dad who get up from the table and walk over to the door, my mom stands behind him as my dad opens up the door and there stands a man I have never seen before point a gun to my dads head.

My mom lets out a high pitched scream as he shoots my dad right in the head,  the man smirks and grabs my mom but I close my eyes desperately hoping this would end but then that's when I hear so many more shots, I open my eyes and there stands my mother on the ground, she's been shot too, I look over at my siblings but instead of them sitting beside me they're on the floor shot too, and the guys that did this aren't standing their no longer...

I jolt awake and know it was all a dream, I keep having these types of dreams over and over again, I hear a knock on the door and I mumble a "come in" and my sister stands at the doorway "Ross I'm going over at Ellington's, I'm probably going to stay over the night there and the rest of the boys went over to a friends, they should be back soon though" Rydel tells me and I nod before getting out of bed and getting dressed before going over to Lydia's.

Today I wanted to go out and do something because I'm tired of living like this and I knew just what I wanted to do because before all of this happened I had planned on taking Lydia somewhere special and that's where I wanted to take her today, she deserves it for having to put up with me lately.

I grab a few things and put them in the car before going over to her house
"Ross what are you doing here?" She asks and I smile

"I'm going to take you out somewhere today, are you ready?" I ask her and she smiles and nods before closing the door behind her, we walk over to the car and I open the door for her and she smiles before getting in.

"So where are we going?" She questions and I shake my head refusing to say

"It's a surprise" I tell her and she rolls her eyes

"You know I'm glad we're doing this, it's good that your getting out and doing something" she tells me and I nod before turning in and parking, we both get out and I can tell she's confused why we're here. I get out everything I brought from the trunk and carry it with me as she follows close behind.

"What are we doing here?" She questions and I walk over to a spot close to a shady tree and near the water, I lay down a small blanket for us to sit down on along with the basket I brought all the food and everything in.

"I remember the last time we went on a picnic, remember?" she laughs and I join her, I actually laugh which surprises me because I haven't laughed in forever, the last time we went on a picnic it started raining and we both got sick the next day so it didn't really work out.

I can't imagine my life without Lydia I mean I wouldn't be able to get through this without her, I've known her almost my entire life and honestly I'm glad I have her. I want her to be mine again because I can't live without her she's been with me through everything, I know I treat her like shit most of the time but she's still her with me with hope still that I can get better again. I shouldn't be doing this now because this is a huge step especially right now but I know what I'm doing and this is the right decision, maybe this can work out.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" I ask her

But do you think she's gonna say yes?

And do you think that Ross' life is gonna turn better again now or worse? hmm
