in the sitting room. My mother and I were sitting on one side of the room while the Bushida family sat on the other.

I sipped on my tea as we shared some glances—not sure how to go about this. No one has spoken a word yet, it was becoming incredibly uncomfortable. "So..." I tapped my teacup with my nails.

"Y/n, did you like the gift I got you?" He had his hands clasped together, obviously nervous. 'I know them hands clammy as fuck.'

"Yes, thank you. It's certainly very pretty."

"I'm glad! I made it just for you." I smiled a bit and slowly nodded. After that, things went back to being awkward.

"Rafael, what are you doing here? And how did you find my daughter?" My mother sighed, rubbing her temples.

"Well, I have my ways..." He rubbed the back of his neck, slowly looking away.

"But how have you been Kim?" She loudly scoffed, rolling her eyes. "No no no," she chuckled lowly. "You don't get to ask that. You don't get to know."

She took a deep breath before continuing. "For the last time, why are you here?"

He looked rather hurt, but he had no right to feel hurt. "I just... I wanted- no, I needed to see how you guys were doing. Maybe get to talk to my daughter..."

"Wait- hold the fuck up." Haru looked like he was trying to find the right words. "We have a sister. A sister we knew nothing about... we're literally the same age! And not once have you said anything about this? Why didn't you say anything about this?!"

'I feel you bro.'

"I know and I'm sorry. I haven't been honest with any of you and I'm so, so sorry. But I promise, from now on, there will be no secrets."

Crystal just laughed dryly with her head in her hands. "Rafael, we both lost something during the war. Somethings we can never get back. We may not be in love, but as your wife and as a mother of your children... why would you keep this from me- from us?"

Me and my mom just shared a look.

"There is no excuse as to why I left without telling you. It was foolish of me. I made a terrible mistake—the mistake of not telling you and it cost me your trust and your love. And it cost me a relationship with my daughter."
