Chapter 14: Dreams

My eyes slowly open, taking in the scene around me. I winced slightly at the overwhelmingly bright lights above the bed I'm laid in. I turn on my side, sinking further into the bed until I remember what happened before I fell asleep.

I open my eyes again and quickly scramble for the nurse button. Am I in a hospital? Why? I click the orange button rapidly a few times until someone comes in.

"Yes yes what's wrong?!" I look at her, desperately.

"My friends- how are they? Did something happen to them? Are they even back yet?"

"O-oh.. uh.. let me get recovery girl-"

"No! Why can't you tell me? You obviously know something. Please!"

"..ok well.. the usj was-" At that moment I heard Recovery Girl speak behind her.

"-completely fine." The nurse turned and looked down on her.

"A word in the hallway nurse." As they step out I look around my room, trying to see if there's anyway I could watch the news. There's no tv in my room. I can see out into the waiting room, there's tvs there.

You carefully look out the thin window on the door, seeing that the nurse and Recovery Girl are gone. You gently grab the handle and push down on it, only for it to stop. You pushed harder, it wouldn't budge. Locked. Locked?! What happened next was out of your control. You didn't want to blow the door off after trying to kick it in, but you were desperate.

Nurses around you froze, some scattered. You went over to the tv but couldn't hear anything. It was showing pictures and videos of the usj destroyed; ambulances were leaving the building and you could see your classmates gathered around.

"Turn up the tv-! Please I can't hear what they're saying!" You heard recovery girls voice; along with Nezos after.

"Do not touch that remote."

"Y/n please go back to your room, we've fixed the door."

"No-no! What happened to them? I tried to tell you guys but you wouldn't listen! Just tell me!"

You saw them covering their mouths and noses, then saw that oh-so familiar purple dust cloud in the corner of your vision. You just looked at the ground and let it happen.

"Hello again midnight..." Her reply was cloudy because the smoke started to set it.

"Goodnight y/n."

—time skip—

You open your eyes. In this stupid hospital room again. Was that a dream? Or was this a dream? You couldn't tell, it all felt so real but fake at the same time. Maybe you were still on the bus, sleeping on Bakugous shoulder. That's what you told yourself anyway.

You heard the door opening and tiredly looked over, a nurse stepped in with recovery girl. The same nurse as before, you were too tried to react so you just laid there; still. She gave you a bright smile you hadn't seen in the last interaction.

"We'll good morning Y/n, good to see you up!" You sat up, running your hands through your hair.

"Where am I..?"

"In the hospital about an hour away from the usj. You had a little bit of an accident." You looked at yourself, just now noticing the IV in your arm.

"Where's my classmates?"

"They're in other rooms. You don't remember anything do you?" You shook your head softly, still tired.

"Well the bus crashed because someone with an..odd quirk.. pushed it. But everyone is ok!"

"When can I see my friends?"

"I-"

"Nurse, we need you out here immediately." She turned and looked at the other nurse standing at the door.

"Yes, be right there. Well Y/n I've got to go. I'll come back to talk to you shortly." With a smile, she turned and left with Recovery girl following her. You laid back against the pillow, staring up at the roof.

A few minutes later, a third different nurse comes in. She looks.. young. She has blonde, messy space buns with honey golden eyes. Her cheeks are also red. Blush? Or maybe it's natural.

"Y/n?"

"Yes..?"

"You have visitors." You sat up in bed, somewhat excited.

"Is it my friends?" She smiled wildly.

"Not quite." That smile, it made you feel uneasy. She stepped to the side and a couple people, two to be exact, slid into the room. They had an ominous air around them. When the door closed, one of the men took of his hood and you almost puked. It was... him. His scratchy voice spoke through his evil smile.

"Hello y/n.." 

You pushed yourself as close to the wall as you could as the second person revealed himself. They started walking towards you, you opened your mouth to scream but nothing came out. Shigiraki spoke as Dabi ignited his hand with that terrifying blue flame. They walked closer as Shigiraki talked again.

"Don't worry your pretty little head off, y/n. It'll all be over soon. Maybe not so quick or painless..but soon." He chuckled; his laughter dripping with evil and terror. You closed your eyes, ready for his cracking hands to grab you and steal you away forever; when it never came, you opened your eyes. You looked around, realizing you were laying down and not curled up in a ball. Plus there were no villains about to take you.

You look over and see Bakugou, asleep and leaning over on the bed, his hand holding yours. You smiled to yourself and gently took your hand from his, stroking his hair from his head softly. His eyes slowly opened and looked at you, then he sat up, suddenly very awake.

"Y/n! Ah I'm so glad you're awake." He gently grabbed your face with both hands and gently but quickly gave you a simple kiss. You smiled and pulled him into a hug, finally feeling normal for the first time since that dream on the bus.
