Third Person POV
"Young lady! How dare you drink that in my house!"
Another fight.
This was a common occurance taking place amongst those who reside in the Anderson household. Arguing, debating, or whatever people would call...this. For Camilla, all this was pointless yelling that would lead up to nothing but more anger, rage, betrayal.
She couldn't understand. Why was it always like this? It felt as if ever since she could say the tiniest of words, all the madness had begun. Those simple days of loving and being loved felt more like a distant dream, whisking away slowly as the burdens of reality had caught up to her.
As she stood in front of the creature whom she had once called mother, Camilla kept her gaze fixated to the now dirty carpet. Ever since her father had passed, the family had started to collapse. Her elder brother had left for the USA to resume his studies, though it was more of an excuse for him to stay away from the cursed place that had once been home. Her mother had pressed her more and more to become a doctor, so much to a point that she could not tell what her actual dream had been. She remembered that she had one, she just didn't know what it was.
"Why can't you stop being so complicated and just accept the fact you have to give up that fighting hobby of yours? There's no need for alcohol, which will only worsen your body. How are you going to continue learning medicine and fulfilyour dream of becoming a doctor?" The lady had asked. She was just met with more silence until the younger of the two had walked to the door, alcohol controlling her mind. "Where do you think you're-" "Mother," The girl had said with a tone that clearly indicated danger. "It was never my dream in the beginning."
Slam!
The door had been slammed shut, leaving the older woman to ponder over what her daughter had just told her. She didn't call her and just let her leave. After all, Camilla will return and face the punishment of her actions later. But only if she had known that would be the very last time that she saw her...
Camilla POV
It felt cold.
How strange.
This was the first time in ages that I had felt something other than rage or disgust. That sorry excuse of a woman was the very reason for that. Ever since my father died after pushing me off the road where a car was about to hit me, I was forced to study without rest.
"You must become a doctor, and for that, you'll need to study harder instead of messing around all the time. God, who did you even get this dumbness from, I wonder. Now, stop this nonsense and go start studying. I will not have my own daughter embarrassing me."
That was what the woman had said when I gifted her a scarf that I had personally knitted for her. Those words had always stuck to me, as if they were glued on to my mind and soul. She had never cared for my own dreams. It was always about what she wanted from us.
I was too distracted to notice the fact that a truck was aiming for me, who was walking slowly near the centre of the road, unaware of where I was due to the effects of the alcohol. Before it all happened, I heard a laugh, and then a scream that sounded a lot like my own voice. And then, it suddenly went dark.
Third Person POV
Everything was loud.
Too loud.
The girl covered her ears, hoping for a single moment of quiet, but alas, it only became much more noisy. As she opened her eyes, she could see videos. Those videos happened to be her memories, from childhood all the way to the time she had unfortunately been hit by a truck.
Where was she?
Was she in Hell already? No, it didn't seem so. It instead felt as if she was falling down a pit that seemed bottomless. Suddenly, she heard a voice.
"W.....e.....up.....pl.....e"
She couldn't hear it quite clearly until it felt as if she was burning up and heard it for the second time.
"Wake....up....please"
Someone was calling her to wake up. But the voice seemed different to her, yet very familiar. Suddenly, she noticed a shadow which started yelling at her the moment she put her eyes on it.
"WAKE UP!"
