Chapter 5 - Confession

Hyping himself with motivational words such as 'she'll definitely accept me!" or 'I'll definitely get her number-' . He's a nervous wreck , even after asking for Ran's help.

He for once is afraid of rejection.- Whatever the reason it is he doesn't know what will happen at all. However, he thinks he's all set up to go up and ask!

I mean it's just a question ,

what could possibly go wrong?.

"Good luck!" was all Ran yelled at him before he stepped out.

The weather was quite cold, he made sure he wore comfortable coats for himself.

He walked into the store and saw you wiping the tables. That bookstore is also a cafe, it is split into two sections for drinks and entertainment. Quite nice to say the least.

You saw him and waved your hand a simple 'hello'. He nodded and swallowed all of his ego and just go for it.

"What brings you here?."

"The books you want haven't arrived yet, so you might have to wait for a few days."

"I didn't came here to buy books or anything."

"I'm here for you."

"Oh."

"Well, let's find somewhere private to talk then."

"Let's go for a walk, shall we?"

"Don't you still have work?."

"Ah well, I'm on my break."

"I see.."

The walk was calming and quiet, mostly just enjoying the fresh air and seeing people walk by with their families and lovers.

- It wasn't particularly awkward for the both of you. Most likely because there's nothing to talk about?. Rindou on the other hand is holding back from even opening his mouth.

He's trying to find the 'right' moment to ask.

You cut off the silence by asking-

"So, how are you nowadays?."

"Oh.. it's been good."

"Well that's great to hear."

"Kind of glad you came back."

"Huh? Why?."

"Honestly.. I don't even know."

"You have to figure that out I guess?, because I can't seem to answer the question that stays in the back of my mind until now."

"But I noticed you've been coming to the store for the past few months."

"It's nice but I sometimes find it cute for you stare at me from afar."

"Like those romantic scenarios where the guy is a secret admirer and doesn't know how express his feelings!." You realized what you had said and immediately covered your mouth.

"Uhm I mean-" You looked away, extremely embarrassed from saying all that without thinking-

Rindou laughed. That grumpy guy for a teenager is for once doesn't get irritated over little things.

You looked at him in awe, it was probably the best thing you've seen in a while. Just admiring the way he would be easily entertained with that.

He then said,

"Damn you really are something else huh?."

"My bad on that part-."

"Hey it's okay, it was..." He mumbled the last part while looking away from you.

adorable.."

"Hm? What was that?" You heard it loud and clear, wanting to tease him.

"Can you repeat it for me?" Stopping in your tracks and went infront of him. Getting close to his face and you said "please?".

His face was a bit red tinted with blush, almost fell from all that. It felt like his legs suddenly became jelly- betraying his own will to stand still.

"No. I'm not gonna repeat that."

"You heard nothing."

"Mhm yeah sure~."

"Well, Mr Hopeless Romantic.. I find you cute too."

You threw a piece of crumpled paper at him. The contents in it was your phone number and a ':)' smiley face next to it.

He looked calm outside but good lord on the inside he's screaming for his life-
