"You don't know who the kings are?" Esther asked trying to stifle her amusement
I looked at her flatley before rolling my eyes and answering,
"I know who they are, but I do not know their names, Esther." I said still giving her a bland look.
"King Levius and King Asura." Aven butted in staring at me with an unreadable emotion crossing her eyes.
'It almost looked like jealousy? Oh gods is Aven jealous?' I thought to myself trying to rake my brain for what I could have done to make her respond in such a way.
"Ah.... thank you. I should get going to the kings' rooms. I have a feeling i'm going to get lost." I said with a dramatized eye roll and an exasperated sigh
Aven gave me a tense nod practically burning holes through me with her eyes. Esther simply smiled and put two thumbs up in what I'm hoping to be encouragement and not a 'its been nice knowing ya good luck' type of way.
I made my way towards where the chef was preparing food.
"Can I help you." The gruff looking older man grunted out with a raise of his let eyebrow. It came out as more of a statement then it did a question.
"I need to pick up the kin-" Before i could finish my sentence he handed me two silver trays carved with intricate designs on the rims.
The tray were beautiful, but the food oh gods the food. Its scent alone was mouth watering. There was foods from far away lands I haven't even heard of. The fruit looked perfectly ripe like it had been plucked at its most perfect apex. I was practically drooling all over their food.
I straightened myself and started to the kings' rooms. Following the lady's instructions i stopped before two grant doors. Both white in color. I felt like i shouldn't even touch them. The door knob looked to be made of pure gold! The grand white doors had beautiful designs and insignias carved all over. I had never seen something so lavish in all my 19 years!
Composing myself, I walked right into the door to the left.
Unbeknownst to me, I had just willing walked into the lions den.
