Karakogi Maple

Here's me and Scara's backstory basically redone because of the new fucking lore.

"Scara?" The purple haired boy hummed next to me, looking up from his homework and at me. "Do you promise to stay with me? Even when you have to leave and we somehow part ways?" His eyes softened slightly as he sighed. He placed his homework down and scooted closer to me, wrapping his arms around me. I froze for a moment, Scaramouche usually never hugged me, so this was still a new feeling to me.

"What makes you think I'm going to leave? I'll be here forever." I hesitantly wrapped my arms around him and hugged him back.

"But, you're special. You have special powers and this isn't your birth family. What if one day you just get taken from me? And we never see each other again? Then what do I do?" I said, blinking away tears at the thought of having to leave my best friend. He sighed and held onto me slightly tighter.

"I'll never leave. I promise.."

"Those were his last words he said to me. The next day, before I could even say goodbye, the Fatui came to his house and demanded that his parents handed him over to them. I went over to say something, to hang out, but when his parents said he was gone...How could you ever say that to a little kid? How do you tell them that their best friend was taken away from them? I don't know how they did it, sometimes I wish they had just lied..." I said quietly, Tomo rubbing my back. I heard him sigh before shaking his head.

"Hey, it'll be ok! One day you'll see each other again soon. Don't sweat it. And, in the mean time, you have me, Thoma, Ayaka, Yoimiya and Gorou! We'll always be here. I can promise you I'll always be here. Nothing is going to take me away from you!" I looked up at him, feeling the tears slowly welding in my eyes. I threw myself onto him and hugged him tightly, letting my tears soak into his red kimono.

"Thank you Tomo, I don't know where I'd be if it weren't for you.."

"That's gay."

"But we are-!" I felt a hand slap over my mouth as I looked up to see Tomo smiling widely at Ayato.

"Ah, Ayaka, could you come control the beast?" Tomo asked, glaring at Ayato slightly. Ayaka laughed before dragging Ayato out of the room and slamming the door shut.

"I apologize for him, he still isn't quiet sure what his beliefs are. But I'm glad you two have finally decided on becoming a couple! I'll be here to support you two, even if Ayato doesn't. I'm sure he does though." I sighed and smiled at Ayaka. She was always kind and always knew what to say, even in the worst possible times. "Oh, right, here is the festivals schedule. Hope you two have fun! I, however, can't attend.." Me and Tomo nodded in an understanding way before walking out.

"So, 6pm?" Tomo asked. I nodded and smiled at him. He laughed slightly before placing a hand on my head. "Great, it's a date then!" I blinked a few times before looking up at him, stammering over my words a little. Tomo laughed before bringing me in for a hug. "Oh Kazu, you don't understand how lucky I am. Now, see you. I'll pick you up around 5:30 ok?" I nodded before feeling a soft feeling on my lips. Tomo waved at me before walking away. 

I lingered there for a moment before realizing what he had done. I screamed out loud slightly, pedestrians looking at me oddly while others laughed and shook their heads.
