"Are we almost there?" I groaned at the pain swelling in my feet. I looked up at Roe who was ahead of me. "Yeah, it's just a little farther up. Man, you must haven't been outside in a while if you can't walk this much." Roe teased. We were in the heart of the city. I really hope Roe knows what she's doing. I thought with a concern. Cars raced past us and my legs became weary. "Alright just turn down this alley and we're here." Roe pointed the way. "Oh thank God. It has only been forever." I rolled my eyes.
I turned and followed Roe down the long, dark alleyway and sighed in relief. "And here we are." Roe smiled to me. She pulled open a rusty door attached to an abandoned apartment building. Roe gestured me into the building and I entered.
As I entered the building, it appeared to be completely empty. Nothing. There was nothing. I looked at Roe confused. "Um, are you sure you have the right building?" I asked her with a smirk. Roe walked towards me, but knelt down. "Wow, you have to go back to training man cause your senses are getting bad." Roe laughed as she lifted up floorboards to reveal a ladder going down. I looked at her and laughed. I guess I really do need to go back to training, but I mean I have been training my magic skills.
I smiled and climbed down the ladder. Roe followed along and moved the floorboards back into place. "Welcome home." Roe patted my back. I looked around, and saw that this place looked like a home. "Wow, you guys can really do whatever you wish." I laughed. Roe started walking and I followed her. "Well let me show you your room."
Roe walked me to my room and opened the door. I smiled so big which made Roe laugh. "Well, I'll let you settle down before you see the rest of the guys." Roe left, and shut the door behind her. I looked around my room. My bed was surrounded by bookshelves, there was a desk with a stereo, there was a huge closet, and there was a personal bathroom attached to it. I flopped down on the bed and smiled. I got up and slowly made my way to the bathroom. I stared into the mirror, and splashed some water onto my face. My mind kept drifting back to the image of The Joker. It's okay. It's okay. You're going to be okay. You're home now, and he will never find you. You're with your family now.
My thoughts were disturbed by a knock on my bedroom door. I opened it up, and was jumped on by four people. "Guys, get off of me!" I yelled. "No! We haven't seen you it forever!" A voice shouted from the dog pile. Laughter broke out in the room, and my friends started tickling me. "Guys, I can't breath! Stop! Ahh!" I yelled as the dog pile came to an end.
I stood up and stretched. "Guys, never do that again!" I laughed. "But we missed you!" Shouted Jay. I hugged him and the others. "Well Roe told us the news of your new powers." Sara explained while patting my back. I looked at her and gave her a half smile. "But we love you just the same, and these powers might help us with our unfinished business." Devin evilly smirked. We all laughed and left my room.
Everyone went into the living room, but I wandered around. We had a storage area, a kitchen, living room, bathrooms, bedrooms, fitness room, and a office. I am ready to join my family again, but I need to make sure to protect them with my life. I thought as I walked into the living room. I sat in between Jay and Devin on the worn out couch. I sighed and put my head back. "Hard day?" Jay asked. I looked at him, and rolled my eyes. "If I told you everything that has happened to me lately, you would be exhausted, too." I smirked. Jay wrapped his arm around my shoulders, and I rested my head on his shoulder. Devin and I always had a close relationship like this. To me he was my older brother, but yet again all of these guys were my family.
"So what is our unfinished business?" I asked with a curious tone. They all looked around at each other, and got serious. Roe cleared her throat, and spoke, "Well, first, we have to get our revenge on The Joker for killing Hayden, but besides that we have a few supply runs to do." I nodded as I took in all the information. "Well, The Joker, I can take care of that situation." I spoke quietly. "You can't!" Jay argued. I stared at him straight in the eye. "Trust me Jay, that man I can handle, and now since that I have my powers, it will make it easier." Jay rolled his eyes at my statement, but went along with it. "Alright lets get to work then." Sara commanded. We all got up and got ready for a long night.
*Later That Night*
I was in my room finishing up my outfit. I wore black knee high combat boots, black ripped jeans, a black crop top, a leather jacket, and a black beanie. My hair was a bloody red color, but it flowed down my back. I applied mascara, eyeliner, and red lipstick. I took one last look in the mirror, and left my room. Everyone met up at the ladder, and we all nodded as if we were all ready. One by one we all climbed up the ladder.
It was night, and this was our time to complete some business. We all left the apartment building, and stood outside in the cold city. "Alright, everyone ready? Remember, if anything goes wrong, hit the panic button on our bluetooth system." I explained to the group. They all nodded, and sighed. "Okay, let's get this night started." I smiled evilly. We all gave one final nod, and left into different directions. I climbed up onto the roof of the building next door, and looked around the city. Alright, joke boy. Where are you? I smiled as I saw where I needed to go. I jumped from roof to roof.
It probably was 10 minutes later, until I landed outside an old warehouse. Karma's a bitch. Especially if you messed with one of my people. I smiled evilly with my hands forming into fists. I was ready to get my revenge, but that was not my only plane. I was also going to find out more about The Joker, and where or why I think I know him. I cracked my neck and found a way in. This is going to be interesting.
