I'm Going Back

I woke up with red, puffy eyes. I sniffled and rubbed my eyes. My head was pounding in pain. Another headache. I groaned, and got up from my bed. I walked into my bathroom, and took the advil out. I put two pills, and swallowed them whole. If only I could choke on them. I smirked. Slowly, I made my way to the closet, and put on an old, baggy, white t-shirt with black shorts. I threw my hair up in a messy bun. I walked out my room, and noticed no one else was up or here. The house was dead silent, and my footsteps in the halls were the only noise. I entered the kitchen, and made a bagel. The toaster oven dinged, and the kitchen filled with the aroma of a raisin bagel. I smiled, and spread the cream cheese onto the hot bagel.

I took my bagel into the dining room, and ate. While I was eating, I was drowning in my thoughts. I should go back to Bruce, but still work with the guys. Will they miss me? Would anyone miss me if I killed myself right now? Will The Joker try to come after me? I need to leave right now. Just go for a walk, or whatever. I snapped back into reality when I realized I ate all of my bagel. I got up from the table, and stumbled back to my room. I brushed my teeth, and slipped on my black converse.

I took out a piece of paper, and a pencil out of my desk. As I wrote a note to the guys, I heard thunder outside. I smiled at the sound. Perfect time for a walk. I giggled. I finished writing the note, and stuck a piece of tape on top of the note. As I left, I stuck the note outside on my bedroom door. The note said:

Hey guys!

You probably wondering where I am and why there's a note on my door, but there is an explanation. I am going back to Bruce's, but don't worry! I am still working with you guys! If you guys need me, Roe knows how to contact me. I need to clear my mind out, and talk to Bruce, but it has been great seeing you guys again! So until then, goodbye!

I walked towards the ladder, but stopped in my place. I looked around, and frowned slightly. The ladder creaked as I climbed up. I reached the surface, and covered the ladder. I walked outside, and was instantly soaking wet. It was pouring out, and lightning flashed throughout the sky. I sighed, and began to walk.

More than a hour later, I finally made it at Wayne Manor. I slipped through the gate and walked towards the door. Before I knocked on the door, I looked at my reflection in a puddle. I was shocked at first, but then realized that I forgot to put on waterproof make-up. Black mascara and eyeliner ran down my face. I shrugged and knocked on the door. I better act this all out pretty good.
The door opened, and I hugged who ever opened it tightly. "Oh Ms.Edwards- Oh my..Are you okay?" Alfred's soft, British voice spoke. I started to whimper, and I heard footsteps walking towards us. I looked up to see Bruce shocked, but happy. I ran up to him and Bruce hugged me tightly. We hugged for what seemed forever. "What happened to you?" Bruce asked as he broke apart the hug. I just stared at him in the eye. "The Joker..." I choked out and started to cry a little.

I hated lying to Bruce and Alfred, but I had no other choice. Bruce hugged me tightly, and looked at me. "Well lets get you dried up, and then we can eat." Bruce nodded at Alfred, and then I heard Alfred's footsteps take off in the distance. Probably going to the Batcave or going to start dinner. Bruce walked me into his room, and handed me a towel. I dried out my hair and dried my clothes. "What did he do to you?" Bruce asked sternly. I paused, and stared at him. "I don't want to talk about it.." My voice drifted out. He broke my heart and fucking left me for hell. My thought was louder than my voice.

Bruce sat down next to me on the bed. I rested my head on his shoulder. Bruce's arm wrapped around my waist and pulled me closer. I looked up at him, and he looked down at me. Time felt like it was slowing down as Bruce's face came close to mine. We both hesitated at first, but soon enough our lips attacked each other in sync. Bruce's hand placed itself on the side of my face. Our kiss came to an end, and we blushed as we stared at each other. "We have to have dinner first before we have dessert." I laughed. We both fell backwards onto the bed, and stayed in the silence.
