“You are so funny!”
Love laughs as she witnesses Mew flops down on the couch, grabs a can of beer and chugs the drink in one go, after carrying his wife to rest.
“And you are embarrassing!” Mew retorts after he released a breath.
The woman laughs more seeing her friend in a new light. Maybe this is the chance she has been waiting for her friend to finally let go.
“Why are you here anyway?” Mew asks with a hint of irritation in his voice. “Unnoticed,” he emphasizes.
Getting used to her grumpy friend, Love simply shrugs. “This looks new. You’re very sober and not working like mad.”
Mew darts his eyes on his friend.
Love simply rolls his eyes before narrating the basic of his friend.
“Man, it’s Monday and you’re so here and what? Watching movie? The ever working Mew Suppasit, not behind his desk or a bar counter? The odds.”
She scoffs and follows with a teasing smile on her lips, “I can see why though.”
“What are you talking about, woman?”
Love purses her lips as she shakes her head. “It should be who, Mew. Wow. You look like a normie human being again, like having a life.”
When Mew only raises a brow, the woman continues:
“Well, let me give it to you, my friend. For the last what? Three years? Four?” Love recalls her memory as she counts on her fingers.
“I always see you occupied with work or bottles of goodies like it’s the end of the world and that’s literally every time I visit you. So, seeing you, like actually outside of those two, is kinda refreshing,” she narrates.
“I have to,” Mew says with a shrug because it’s the truth. The memory of a passed out Gulf is still vivid in his mind.
And it’s not like he feels conflicted whenever the younger is around him which is basically every minute of every day, it’s quite the opposite instead. He feels at peace when Gulf is near—somewhere he can see the younger.
Mew raises a brow as he looks at his friend. “Why are you complaining, by the way? Isn’t this what you have nagged to me for years?”
He can only shake his head as he can still remember how surprised he was when he was not affected by Love’s face then, until now, because he used to not believe that something can remain platonic between a man and a woman. Well, he was young then...and naïve.
Love scoffs rolling her eyes as she grabs her own can of beer. “You like him, huh?”
Mew almost spits his drink upon hearing the words. “What are you talking about?”
The woman’s laughter echoes the place. “C’mon Mew, you’ve been throwing me daggers with your eyes the entire time I was with him.”
“What?” Mew snorts. “You’re seeing things now, huh?”
“I’m definitely not.” Love smirks with a glint of playfulness in her eyes. “I’m a woman, my dear.”
With exasperated sigh, Mew can only shake his head in disbelief. “God, what’s with you women?”
“So?”
“So…?” Mew mimics with a frown.
Frustrated, Love takes a hold of a pillow and throws it straight to the man’s face. “Ugh. You bastard, stop acting all coy with me!”
