⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚ tw! - death mentions! ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ ————————————————————
toge stood in front of the casket, tears brimming his eyes for the nth time in the past few weeks. his black suit covered his body as he watched his girlfriend lie there, no movement, no consciousness, no heartbeat.
he had blamed himself, even though it wasn't his fault. everyone kept reassuring him, though it didn't lift his guilt in the slightest.
he kept asking himself, 'what if i didn't go to sleep?' though he knew the answer to that.
close friends gathered around him as he slowly broke. though who wouldn't? after all, the love of his life was dead. his best friend. one of the only people who truly understood him.
he felt arms wrap around him in an attempt to comfort him, but it did nothing. he soon realized the he was being pulled into the embrace of megumi, one of the three younger people that thought of y/n as their older sister.
megumi and y/n had the closest bond out of the three. they had went to the same middle school, and y/n was there to comfort him after his sister got into the incident.
"it's not your fault. stop thinking it is." megumi's stern yet noticeably cracked voice echoed softly into toge's ear. he had been trying so hard to contain his emotions, hoping to be like a rock for the others though ultimately failing. "she wouldn't want you thinking like that."
the others on the other hand, were grieving on their own parts. mai, maki, panda and nobara stood in a huddle as mai, panda, and nobara attempted to sooth maki's loud cries.
her and y/n had been best friends as they grew throughout the years in high school. y/n had helped maki when she was feeling down about her and mai's relationship.
mai had met y/n a couple of times. she thought the girl was lovely. while as nobara's sister-like relationship with the girl had been beyond what others could imagine. she had taught nobara all about other fashion styles, how to style things differently, self care routines, etc. they had sleepovers in each other's room, dragging the other first and second years along with them.
todo, yuuji, and gojo stood in there own little hut. yuuji felt like his world had been shattered. his face had been splotched with red as he looked exhausted. he hadn't been getting much sleep since he heard the news of the girl's passing.
y/n had taught yuuji things he'd always wanted to learn. that included cooking recipes, how to play certain instruments, and even how to get away from the cops while seeming innocent (it worked too, just saying). she taught him a little more elegance and how to control his emotions when fighting curses, cause things could always go wrong if you didn't know what you were doing.
she had also stopped his execution from happening once all twenty of sukuna's fingers were collected. she had started and entire protest, showing her disinterest in him being executed.
gojo had felt like he lost a daughter. though he wasn't that old, and still single, he felt like his one person family had expanded. though he didn't really show it, he was heartbroken. he wanted to curl up in a ball and sob until he couldn't feel anything anymore.
todo on the other hand hadn't been super close with the girl. he had only hit on her a few times because she had fit his 'type of girl'. he thought she was a kind girl, though. she could make a lot of people laugh, including him.
everyone else that was there happened to be close family. they couldn't bare to see the young woman they had known and loved throughout the years to be in a casket, only in her early 20's at that.
as toge clenched onto megumi, his grieving taking over his emotions, he had begun to fall to the floor as he legs seemed to have given out on him.
megumi slid with him, holding onto the older male as his own tears and quiet cries took over him.
it's something to say, they all felt as though they had lost a piece of themselves.

- notes from ray! -
thanks for reading :) i honestly hoped you liked this. i've never actually written or liked reading angst, but i felt like i had such a good idea and story plot that i hadn't seen before to pass up on an opportunity to write about it.
i have more stories coming, so be sure to be around for that! <3
