Survive The Dark

Escape

I then grab onto my own hair and drop to my knees.
I'm going crazy....oh god.....oh dear god.....

I then see shadows blocking the light from under the door crack. The room begins to get colder and colder as the darkness lurks.

I jump up shocked from the event that had just happened. The darkness took over the girl.....now it's after me.

Jumping up, I look around my room quickly. I grab a camera and a backpack that I found nearby. I then jump up onto my bed as I reach for the tallest, thinnest window. I'm thin, the window is thin....why not?

I break the window open with my elbow as I shield myself from the shattering glass. The darkness then begins to crawl up under the door and it seemed to hypnotize me....like it was stunning me.
I then snap out of it and I wedge way through the window grunting at small pieces of glass that would dig into my skin. I was now on the roof...up high. I lived in a tall building and, I assumed, I was towards the middle of the building. I then shiver as my breath dances through the air. I then look back to see the darkness lurking, swallowing up the room I had just sought comfort in.

I then begin to run on the roof hoping to find some way down.

It was a large city I was in, roads were cracked and seemed to crumble. Sidewalks were no longer perfectly straight but instead they had some cracks where, weeds and other plants reached out. There were only a few trees....trees that grew from concrete boxes in front of small shops and restaurants. It was a silent, serene place....it felt isolated.

I then breath in and out trying to calm myself and return my peaceful state. I then look at the much shorter neighboring building. It only had a small gap in between....and....I figured I would make it.
I set myself backwards a bit and exhale. I then sprint down the building and I jump.

Hello to those who are reading this story! I hope this chapter doesn't have too many spelling mistakes. I am EXHAUSTED but I really wanted to write today. So please, excuse any mistakes.

I know that the chapters may seem short but DONT WORRY! Soon they will get longer with story development!
