Korra finished her appointment with the specialist Doctor Kya referred her to, he confirmed that it was a torn ACL. In a week Korra was scheduled for ACL reconstruction surgery. She was extremely nervous and anxious. This would be the first time she would have any type of surgery and it scared her.

The walk to the car was extremely challenging for Korra, she was still getting used to using the crutches. Korra didn't realize how sore they would make her shoulders.

Senna opened the back door of the car to help Korra get in. Korra had to slide in first then let her leg rest on the seat.

Korra could feel herself starting to become frustrated with the lack of movement in her leg. She slammed her fist into the seat. "Korra, are you ok?" Her mother quickly looked at her.

"No mom, I'm not ok. I can't bend my knee, I can't walk, I can barely get out of bed. Nothing about this is okay!" Korra felt tears welling in her eyes.

"I'm so sorry, sweetie." Senna hated seeing her daughter like this, she didn't know how to help her. "I know everything seems bad right now but it will get better, it may take some time but it will. Korra, you are the strongest and most resilient people I know, you will get through this. Me and your dad will be with you every step of the way. We love you so much."

"Thanks mom." Korra said in a monotone voice. She was already so tired of the pain. Korra had so many different emotions going through her head. The one thing that she held onto right now was that she would have the chance to get back out onto the court after surgery and physical therapy. That thought is what kept her going.

Korra got home and crutched her way to the living room. Her father was already there watching the news. "Hey Korra, how did it go?"

Korra slowly and carefully sat down next to him, "We got my surgery scheduled for next Monday at 7:00 AM."

"That's great!" He exclaimed. "You will be back on your feet in no time."

Korra shifted her focus to the TV, "Yeah, I hope." She said quietly.

Kourtney walked into the living room and sat down in the big chair next to the couch, she smiled at her little sister. "Korra, how was it?" She asked.

"Well I got scheduled for surgery." Korra was done talking about it. She just wanted to stop thinking about her upcoming procedure, it was stressing her out even more than she already was. Kourtney heard her little sister's tone of voice and knew she didn't want to talk about it, so she left back to the confines of her room.

As Korra laid on the couch, Naga came bounding over to her. She jumped up next to her owner and plopped down. Korra's mood always got better when Naga did things like this. "Hey girl." Korra rubbed her dog's head. Korra swore that Naga knew what she was thinking and feeling.

Watching TV and petting her best friend helped ease her mind. It helped that the leather couch was comfortable. Korra could feel her body finally start to relax, a wave of exhaustion hit her. Korra closed her eyes, she could hear the faint voice on the TV and her dog's light snoring. It comforted her.

Korra was taken out of her trance by her mom's voice, "Korra, I'm running to the pharmacy to get your medication. I'll be back and start supper."

"Thanks mom, see you when you get back." Korra sighed. I might as well go to my room and try to sleep. She thought to herself.

Korra gently pushed Naga off of her. Now comes the hard part, getting off the couch. Korra swung her right leg off of the leather and carefully settled it on the carpeted floor. She used her left leg, with the help of her crutches, to push herself up. This was the first time she had gotten up alone, the little victories like this helped.
