Our Question

She didn't know what hurt more. That she failed to kill Zenos, the wounds, or the fact that she nearly got her dearest friend killed alongside her. Yugiri decided it was that she couldn't kill Zenos.

The Raen was brought out of her thoughts by a rough knock at her door. The person did not wait for clearance before they entered, revealing that it was the very woman in Yugiri's thoughts that had come. In her left hand was a bag filled with contents that clinked together as she moved.

Yugiri took a moment to examine the Viera. She was exceedingly tall and handsome, something no small amount of her people possessed. Next was that she was out of her dark coat, now in a silk shirt and black pants. Lastly were cool grey blue eyes that never once flinched in all the time the shinobi had known her.

Clearing her throat Yugiri spoke, "What brings you here Simone?" In hindsight it should have been obvious to her with the bag the woman carried in.

"I'm here to tend to your wounds, strip your shirt." Her bluntness made the smaller woman blush, but she complied and removed her top revealing a myriad of gashes that split skin and scale alike. Simone clicked her tongue and approached, "How reckless you are for a shinobi, Yugiri." She chastised lightly as she took out some numbing ointment.

Yugiri attempted at a rebuttal but anything she had to say died down before they left her tongue. Simone was right. It was foolish of her to believe that she had any chance of taking on Zenos even with the Warrior of Light at her side. "You remind me of myself when I was in my early years, before coming to Eorzea." She continued as she worked the ointment into Yugiri's skin, numbing the wounds. Her words surprised Yugiri.

It was a well kept fact that Simone didn't discuss her early life. Most thought it was because she didn't like being reminded of her age, her being nearly two-hundred years old and all. Yugiri and her more perceptive allies like Y'shtola and Urianger figured it had more to do with that she had secrets she'd rather keep.

"I was a wild-child. Killed off invaders of our lands with a pair of chakrams, never listened to my elders. Almost cost me my life more times than I care to remember." Simone had moved onto rubbing an oil that stung the wounds. "Chakrams?" Yugiri questioned.

She finds herself amused, imagining Simone wielding a pair of disks instead of the Gunblade she is usually seen with. "Mhm, my mothers wanted me to be a Dancer." The knight gently pushed Yugiri onto her back, "Stitching next, hold still." Yugiri nodded and urged Simone along with her story.

"I'm guessing that didn't work out?" She felt Simone hesitate making her think she overstepped. "Not really. I was much more proficient with a Gunblade and Sage stones than chakrams. For a long time I was a Gunbreaker and healer in service to the Bozjan Empire, at least until its collapse." It took a moment for Yugiri to process what she heard but as soon as it did she nearly shot up.

"You mean to say you are over five thousand years old?" The shinobi balked at the thought, but the way her companion hardly budged jarred her even more.

"Perhaps. I have long since stopped counting my age. I suspect my longevity is due to the Blessing of Light since my kind normally live to only two or so centuries." Simone shifted off the bed and placed herself next to Yugiri's thigh, "Your armour and scales did well in their purpose Yugiri. Without them you most likely would have lost your leg."

The Raen nodded, feeling shame creep further into her mind. Simone, almost as if she sensed Yugiri's thoughts, flicked her finger close to Yugiri's wound startling her out of her thoughts, "I'll not have you doubting yourself. You did your duty, and that is what is important." Not another word was spoken as Simone finished stitching her up. After which she began using her healing magicks.

Once she was finished she helped Yugiri sit up, her hand lingering on the smaller womans thigh, "This is all I can do, the rest will take time to close. The stitches will dissolve in three or so weeks, that should be enough time for your skin to finish healing and your scales to start regrowing." The Viera explained softly.

"Yugiri..." Simone started, earning a hum in response. "You may have done your duty admirably but please don't throw your life away like that again. I know what it's like, the desire to protect your nation to borderline self-destructive tendencies." She paused, gently taking Yugiri's chin in her hold.

"Yet know that nothing good ever comes from such actions. You only cause more suffering in doing so. Hien would disapprove, Gosetsu would disapprove..." Simone leaned forward until Yugiri could feel, could smell and taste the faint Bozjan tobacco on her breath. "I would be... devastated beyond words to lose you." Pale grey blue orbs burned with such vivid love and adoration that Yugiri could not take it anymore.

So she pushed forward, connecting her lips with Simone's who hummed gently and moved her hands to her waist. There was no rush in this kiss, no lust and no pressure. There was only slow and tender love as the kiss deepened.

What felt like an eternity of bliss slowly faded as Simone pulled away, a smile so filled with warmth had Yugiri blushing a deeper red than before. "I love you far beyond what words can describe Yugiri. But I know you hold your land and your people first. Come to me when you are ready to talk so that we may sort out our feelings." Simone placed her lips to Yugiri's temple before leaving quietly.

"I already have the answer..."

This is Simone and her main two jobs, I would be using Dark Knight in place of Gunbreaker but there is literally no reason to be using Drk unless you want to make you and the healer work harder. Simone is max height (190cm or 6'4" for you imperialists) with max ear length. As of now I have seven jobs maxed out. Be sure to let me know how I did with this one-shot, any and all constructive criticism is welcomed and encouraged.
