Meryl smiles and flips her phone face down on her desk. The team had been more welcoming than she had any right to ask for, and for that she was very grateful. Maybe their easy, though surface level acceptance was based on their fragility of the moment, considering they'd just managed to get Emily back.

Given a few days to be around them, Meryl had decided almost immediately that these people were all integral parts of a well oiled machine and she would understand if they had enough moving parts to function accordingly. Hotch had the leadership, Rossi the experience, Emily the sleuth, JJ the persistence, Garcia the outreach, Morgan the courage, and Reid the brain. They all possessed understanding and know-how, that much was blatantly obvious. So what could she contribute?
