Chapter Three

I walked into the kitchen acting like a didn't see or hear anything. I headed to the fridge and grabbed the orange juice set it on the counter and walked to the cabinet and grabbed a glass. Then my grandmother asked me if she could make me something to eat. I told her she may and then she started making cookies and finger sandwiches. As I was pouring my juice I was watching my grandmother very carefully.
I feel like I didn't know my grandmother anymore, I feel like I'm looking at a stranger. Then she was moving things without using her hands. I would have never noticed it if I wasn't staring at my grandmother like she was a complete stranger. My grandmother Ellie looked over her shoulder and smiled. I was trying to look like I wasn't paying attention and playing with my dumb phone. My grandmother asked when did you crack your phone screen, as i was about to say a week ago she turned and was holding no bake cookies that she didn't even put in the fridge; however, they were still perfect and tasted perfect too. Then she handed me a plate with like 50 finger sandwiches on my tiny plate. Looking at the finger sandwiches I took one and tried it, they taste absolutely amazing. My grandmother asked how they tasted and I told her exactly what i just thought to myself they are absolutely amazing. Your birthdays coming up in three days well two because it is 12 something in the morning, you slept a long time sweetheart.
What do you want for your birthday your aunts and cousins are wondering? Well grandmother I want clothes,shoes,boots,books,money, and a new phone. My grandmother just looks and says I have something for you, but you can't have it until friday.
"Oh and your cousins are staying here." Grandmother says.
"Why?" I say.
"Because their moms are looking for new places so they can be closer and spend more time with the family." Grandmother says.
"Their staying in the guest bedrooms, right?" I asked.
"Yes darling the girls are staying in one, and your aunts are staying in the other." Grandmother says.
"Okay grandmother, I'll talk to you later, thanks for the cookies and finger sandwiches." I say.
Then my mom walked thru the back door with a present in her hand. She handed me the present and said I hope you like it. I open the present and almost couldn't believe it she got me the new phone. that's like $500 maybe more I think. I say to my grandmother look it so cool. My grandmother looked like she couldn't even figure out where the turn on button is. She just looked very confused. My mom looked so happy with my reaction that I turned hugged her and said "Thank you very much mom."
"You're welcome baby doll I'm just pleased you like it." My mom said and hugged me back.
I told her I got to go call Maddie, Whitney, Wayne, and Matthew about this thanks again mom. I ran up stairs nearly tripping cause there weren't anymore stairs to run up, got to my room put the charger in the wall turned it on and saw my mom already put her number, the house phone, and my grandmothers cell phone number in it. I grabbed my old phone out of my pocket, and took the sim card out put it in the new phone and started calling Maddie she picked up on the first ring, I told her to call Matthew then me and Maddie told him to call Whitney and when she answered we told her to call Wayne when he answered he asked what this was about we were bugging him because he was trying to sleep. To bad pretty boy I got some good news I got a new phone and were all going out for frozen Yogurt so I can see you guys and show you my new phone. Maddie why go out for Yogurt when you're just going to see us at you birthday party. I said guys you can't come my crazy cousins and aunts are coming so its probably not the best idea. They all were fine with it besides Whitney. I'll pay for the Yogurt Whit. Well if you're paying I guess I'm in. We all got off the phone and said bye.
