Franklin couldn't believe that Brenda will think of getting married to him, after what he just revealed to her.
Franklin smiled faintly, with out uttering a word, As Brenda sat beside Franklin. Her heart felt like it was going to leap right out of her chest. Her hands felt clammy. Franklin stood up and smiled to Brenda, and she smiled back nervously.

It was obvious that they had developed a really strong attachment for each other. Tears began to roll down from Franklin's eyes, he bowed his head in tears, He wished he met Brenda earlier and when he finally looked up and met Brenda's eyes. He smiled again but still in tears
he assured her that he love her so much.

"But it will be unfair to you, if I marry you now and die on you in less than six months time, I appreciate your love and support in this last days of my life, I am happy our path crossed,
I have learned that I don’t need to be perfect in order to be loved and supported. Falling in love with me, is a good sign that you have overcome depression and anxiety, it means that you are ready for a relationship, I know you crave intimacy and love. But the truth is that I can’t have a romantic relationship with you, talk much of marrying you, but your emotions had revealed that you now have the capacity to fall in love and I want you to find someone who will be available for a long time not someone like me. I'm glad that our relationship as therapist and client had reached a deeper level and that you felt comfortable being vulnerable and honest with me,  which is a good thing.
I wish I could make this Leukemia go away, I wish I could live long enough but I can't, I know I love you so much and I can't make our feelings for each other to go away either. Untill my last breath, I will still feel very attached to you, because you have shown me what true love feels like. You have shown me what it feels like to have someone care about me — with my flaws and all. I love you more, but please let's remain friends, because all I need right now, at this stage of my life is a friend who loves me, not a friend who pities me.  I'm lucky to have found you, please be my friend" Franklin said in tears

He came closer to Brenda and hugged her and they hugged each other passionately, with tears falling uncontrollably from their eyes.
"If you love me as much as you claim, you will not want to leave me, not like this, you gave me a reason to live and to be happy, it will be unfair if you leave me, No no no Frank, you can't leave me, you just can't. I won't have any reason to live again if you leave me; my world wouldn't mean a thing anymore without you, have you gotten a second opinion?, Consult another doctor, you might be wrong you know, you are too young to die" Brenda said sadly and Franklin told her " I have consulted more than five doctors and the last one told me I had just three months to live and not the initial six months the first doctor told me, ..... Brenda, let's stop talking about death and live for the moment, and stop worrying about what the outcome of tomorrow would be. I'm still here now and that's all that matters" he said and held her hands.

Brenda's parents felt extremely bad when Brenda revealed Franklin's health condition to them.

Two months after, Brenda called Franklin's cellphone and she was surprised that an unknown person picked up.
"Please who I'm I talking to? Where is my friend Franklin?, please, give him the phone" Brenda asked out(Contact Deen Arfat on WhatsApp +2348148119643  ❤️)
"Hey Brenda, I'm Frank's younger brother" A familiar but strange voice replied at the other end of the phone.
Brenda was mute for few seconds as she wondered why the unknown voice sounded familiar but she concluded that maybe because he is Frank's brother and their voice may sound alike.

"My brother's condition got worse and the doctor suggested he should remain in the hospital till further notice, I'm sorry he can't speak to you now" Franklin's younger brother added
The words that left Frank brother's lips from the other end of the phone, shattered Brenda's heart into tiny pieces. It felt as though her whole world was coming to an end. For a second he wondered how Frank's younger brother knew her name, even though they never met, but that was least of her worry. Brenda's whole body started shaking and she remembered that Franklin told her that the last doctor he consulted told him he had three months not six months

"This can't be happening, please tell me everything would be alright because I wouldn't be Ok if anything happens to Franklin" she said with tears flowing uncontrollably from her eyes. Franklin's brother was short of words but he managed to reply "He is in a better hospital and we hope for a miracle, please don't cry"

Brenda was numb and was at the verge of going crazy. At that moment she wished she could walk, so she could visit the hospital where Franklin was admitted immediately but she managed to find out the name of the hospital and the location before she finally ended the call.
