3. 𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑐𝑢𝑠

I woke up quiet early the next day, packed my bag ; did the dishes; got dressed and gave myself a final nod approval infront of the mirror. I was just about to leave when a call notification popped up. I frowned looking at the unknown ID, wait ! what if it's Audrey again? I pick up the call

" Hey ! umm I'm outside. Mind if we go together to school? "

" Yea sure ! "

I literally curse at myself for still not saving his number, I grab my backpack and wear my shoes , give my mom a side hug and wave her goodbye.

I ran as fast as I could , while tripping at the end of the staircase. I saw a huge white car infront of my house, I definitely knew it was him. The window rolled down and I got a better glance of him, he wore a black denim and white shirt underneath with some chains? okay that actually looked cool on him. He did a wave thing with his head , signaling me to hop inside. I did as I was said, it was a short drive to school. We didn't talk much and I didn't mind to insist because he was driving and we need to follow the rules. Audrey parked his car and I hop out. As soon as I close the car door everyone starts eyeing me down Like Duh ! I choose to ignore them and move forward , " Wait for me Mike " Audrey gives me a side glance and smiles.

" Sweet couple huh ! "

I hear a hoarse , annoying voice from behind and immediately knew who it was , Billy ! That annoying 6.3 ft gangster. He got the best genes to be honest , but he was a total asshole from heart. A typical fuckboy is what I'll describe him as.

" Where are you going Audrey ? and who's that babe with you ? " , his minions giggled from behind in his support. I saw Audrey clench his fists but I stopped him , don't want any mess right now in the morning and we surely don't want to mess up with a gang of 8 people.

" Back off Billy, you and your silly minions " , I yelled out loud for him to hear.

" I think we should go , let's not waste time here Audrey " , I saw him nod in approval and we head towards the classroom.

If I say that my mind wasn't paying any attention to the lecturer ahead, It was right because it was somewhere else. I was worried that we might get stuck in a fight or something with Billy, He was a gangsta and that was 100% true, but the fact that he also had the power as backup was just terrifying. At the age of 17 he was he had committed several crimes such as harrassment, bullying, threatening to murder, forging grades and what not. His dad was a successful businessman and had worked for what I know in a very honest way. The thing with his parents was that , they had high expectations from him, his dad always hoping that his son would be the best in every thing , and from that I mean EVERY THING!

So, he committed crimes, or I would like to qoute in his words , as ' JUST FOOLING AROUND' , I mean- okay but , threatening someone as to murder them was way beyond fooling and trust me no one would like to get along with such guy. The reason him being friends with the seniors and hardly 2-3 guys of our class. How do I know this? Well... long-story short. Marcus i.e. Billy and Me were , play-school friends and things got escalating in the 5th grade when he started ' FOOLING AROUND ' by bullying the guy the teacher made him sit with. I changed my ways from his and started being alone , because other than him I had no friend. Or wasn't sure how to make one..

I looked up on my watch and it was past 3 pm, where was Audrey? He said he'll be done with the football practice by 2:45pm, and it was 3:10pm. It's alright he maybe stuck up on something... I tried to reassure myself.

" Mike ! Mike ! "

I look up into the direction the voice came from, it was my bestfriend Ethan. We had recently became friends, somewhat 3-4 months back. He was shorter than me and had black hairs which he always kept neatly combed. He wore glasses and was the nerd type. The CLASSIC NERD.

" What's wrong Ethan ? Are you alright? You are sweating like crazy " , I giggled to which he gave me a frowned but judging look.

" You really don't know? "

" I really don't know.... " , I was serious this time and somewhat my intuition said it wasn't a great news.

" Well.... then you really need to hurry buddy "

I hurry towards the parking lot, my face was sweating like crazy but I knew I had to make it up on time. Why the fuck would they build this school this large ! I yell in the tracks as I slow down while reaching the parking lot.

I stood there in shock , my eyes tearing up a little. There stood Audrey on the ground, who seemed half-dead.... I face-palm myself as I search for my phone in my pocket, dropping on my knees in the process. I dial up for the ambulance.

I reach up to him , keeping his face on my lap while I try to bring him into consciousness,
" Audrey ... Audrey please.... " I can't do this, I'm weak , I never knew how to act in such situations... I was always weak. I can't stop my crying and the hiccups while trying to bring him into consciousness. I... I'm weak...
