Yoriichi, the strongest demon slayer to have ever existed, but even the strongest ones has to suffer their fate and die.

That one night, he had already knew that it was gonna be the night his fate is sealed.

But gods sure has favorites, they decided give him another chance.

A baby boy getting abandoned in the woods until someone came to save him, and name him Y/n.

He was aware, Yoriichi was aware that he reincarnated, even his adopted family was suspicious of how strange their child acted, his skills and knowledge are far more superior then other children as well.

They had brought him to a priest to see what's going on, the priest simply said that the child was blessed by the gods, that's why he acts so differently.

The mother was unsatisfied with the answer, she only wanted an ordinary child, the father on the other hand supports Y/n and encourages him to use it for good.

Deep down Y/n is just Yoriichi in a child's body, his skills are just from his old self.

The mother would do anything for Y/n to be 'normal', which leads to her and the father on the brink of divorce.

Y/n would often hide from his mother to train with his wooden sword, his father would back him up sometimes while he train.

His mother would find out eventually and the both parents argued that night, resulting to the mother storming off into the snowy woods.

Y/n ran off to find his mother, even if she didn't treat him as right it's too dangerous to go out at night with a weather like this.

But running back to the scream of his father he found him on the brink of death by a demon, in a blink of an eye, the head lay cold on the snowy platform.

Before the father could even say anything Y/n had quickly dashed off to find his mother who the demon was already slayed by a tall man with blond hair and red tip, Yoriichi recognized him.

' Rengoku-san...? ' He was surprised and glad at the same time.

Y/n went to help his unconscious mother while the man gesture over the child.

The man made a 'shh' and some Kakushi arrived to assist the two.

[After that]

Y/n sat outside the room where his parents were, the man went over and sat by him.

" I'm Shinjuro Rengoku, you were very brave and calm despite what happened. " Shinjuro smiled patting the boy's head.

Y/n only nodded, awkwardly dodge the small conversation of Shinjuro.

" You were carrying a sword with you right? Do you know how to use it? " Breaking the silence, Y/n nodded.

" Do you wanna show me? I will be your opponent. " Before even getting a chance to answer Y/n was dragged to a training room.

" Don't worry! I will go really easy on you! " Shinjuro threw him a wooden sword then took his stance

Y/n kept his silence, stared at the sword then move to his position.

Before Shinjuro even getting a chance to cross his sword he was immediately struck down by Y/n, receiving 4 blows from him almost making the tall man collapsed.

Feeling extremely guilty he dropped his sword and quickly went to get help.

" Y-You got talents- incredible!! That was an amazing performance!! " Shinjuro was all bandaged up.

Y/n was still sad about what happened, he never wanted to hurt anyone.

" Aw, cheer up! I will recover in a day or two! " Shinjuro ruffled the little boy's head, and to cheer up the mood he also went ahead to tell Y/n stories of being a demon slayer, which Y/n was intrigued.

After the situation got reported to Oyakata-sama, he was invited to become the tsuguko of Shinjuro Rengoku.

His mother didn't agreed at first, but after a lot of convincing they decided to give Y/n to Shinjuro's care and take their leave.

Y/n will often write letters to his parents, telling them about his progress, about his life at the Rengoku Estate.

The Rengoku family took care of Y/n like their own child, unfortunately the mother, Ruka Rengoku has passed away making Shinjuro slowly growing distances from his children.

Y/n's skill in sword is unbelievable, for such a young age he had unlock his demon slayer mark, and he was a Sun Breathing user, which only made Shinjuro more mad and envious about Y/n.

When he was all trained up, he went to final selection with Kyojuro Rengoku, Shinjuro's son. They both get along very well despite Y/n not being the talkative one.

The Final Selection was so easy to Y/n, he just walk right through and wait for the next 7 days.

Kyojuro and Y/n survived the Final Selection easily, seeing that not many survived, Y/n mourn the pitiful souls of people who came but failed.

Receiving the ore and their own Kasugai crows, Kyojuro and Y/n went home smoothly, Kyojuro telling Y/n about everything as always.

" This call for celebration!! " Kyojuro being as loud, as always.

" Where do you keep all that energy... " Y/n mumbled out to Kyojuro smiling brightly.

And later that night, the Rengoku brothers with Y/n went out to a nearby festival, Kyojuro was very energetic and kept running around with Senjuro while Y/n just walk around.

[Meanwhile with Kokushibo]

Kokushibo's whole body was burning hot, it was strange as demons don't get sick, there was something burning him.

He reach into the handkerchief wrapping his small treasure, and threw it far into the forest, as the temperature lowered he was on the ground panting.

He hated the memories that were rushing to his head, the image of him.

' The past is the past, I don't want anything to do with you anymore, you're dead Yoriichi, you're dead. ' Kokushibo decided to abandon the flute, he convinced himself that he doesn't need it anymore and move on.
