I sat on the edge of the building, a manic grin plastered across my face, I could see the chaos below. I could see the burned remains of what used to be a small town. The screams of frightened parents as they held their children tight, tears streaming down their small faces, filled my ears. It was such a lovely sound. I closed my eyes and listened for a bit. I stood up and opened my eyes and started giggling. There was nothing that could stop me. I stepped down off of the ledge and stood on the roof. I pulled out the small crystal, which had previously been stored safely in my bag, from under my cape. This crystal was the key to all my problems, the key to the world, and the final piece of my plan. I examined it slowly before putting it back. "The heroes will probably be after me soon. I'm surprised they haven't caught up yet.." I thought. I heard running footsteps across the other side of the roof. "Stop! You have nowhere to run!" a voice shouted. I turned around quickly. "Speak of the devil," I said with a smirk. "I was wondering when you were going to show up. Did it really take you that long to find me?" "Shut your mouth! Put your hands up! We have you cornered, villain!" A hero said, a large sword pointed directly at the villain. "Is that what you call me? Tch.. Could you just not use my real name? You've known me for so long after all. Are we not close?" I said pouting. "Pity." The hero scoffed, "We both know the person you were before is dead. They have been for a long time. There's only the psychotic maniac who stands before me." "Maniac? Me? Come now, be more creative." I said chuckling. "I'm not a maniac. I'm simply me!" "Stop stalling! Put your hands up. I won't ask again." "Fine, fine." I laughed, holding my hands above my head. "Give me the gem and come quietly, and maybe we'll lighten your sentence. You have so many crimes already, please don't add another 'Evaded the Law' to the list." He said, moving closer. His sword still pointed at my neck. "Come on.. What fun is 'coming quietly'? That's boring." I said with a small pout. "And even if you did bring me in, I've gotten out of jail before. I can do it again." "Be quiet! You never shut up do you?" The hero said through grinded teeth. "Nope!" I said laughing "That's too boring." "Shut. Up. Do you realize all the chaos you've caused?! How many lives you've taken?! It's utter chaos! You burnt down a village and killed innocent people and for what? What did you gain out of this?! How many people need to die before you're satisfied?!" "Oh you poor, naïve, hero... All of them. I won't be satisfied until I win! And I don't win until you and every other hero is DEAD and the world is MINE!"
