"Falling for you was inevitable."

"Inevitable for us, yes. Statistically, though, it's like a one in a ten-thousand chance in finding the one you're destined for."

Rosa Gomez was simply a ray of sunshine. To anyone, it always came as a shock to hear that Rosa worked with dead bodies, particularly when she had just landed a new job as a medical and forensic examiner specialist for the Behavioral Analysis Unit in Quantico, Virginia. But, for Rosa, helping in whatever way to bring justice to the victims and loved ones was personal.

At a young age, Rosa's sister Lillian had been abducted and killed. On that night, the abductor had paused, seeing the wide-eyed, frightened child and had smiled. If Rosa told, then Lillian would be harmed; if Lillian was harmed, then Rosa would be next. However, Rosa had told the police, and a few days later, a finger that belonged to Lillian had been delivered by post. Lillian's body had later been found but the case had never been solved with the culprit free to carry on. For Rosa, she had blamed herself, promising one day that she would help bring justice for her sister.

The murderer never came for Rosa, but he constantly haunted her like a ghost, just like Lillian did. However, Rosa's determined not to let her dark past show. Instead, she smiled, greeting the world with warm hugs and kind words that gave the impression that nothing could phase her.

Things had been easier for Rosa when her sweet Felicity was born, to which Rosa had vowed that she would not fail her daughter as she had her sister.  Felicity was a flashlight in the darkness — a promise that not everything in this harsh world was corrupt.

Rosa had taken to the BAU, adoring her team and going above and beyond for her job. One team member — Spencer Reid — happened to be the cause of Rosa's heart continuing to glow. Usually, guys like Spencer were the type she avoided, but Rosa just can't seem to get enough of him. Spencer was a little awkward but had a heart perhaps as big as his mind. While different, the two realise that they were rather similar, and had a talent of simply knowing when the other was struggling.

If Rosa was smart, she would have run. However, falling for Spencer was far too easy, and perhaps even inevitable to happen. Though, for the two, can it work with the dangers that come with their jobs and then with Rosa's ghosts becoming reality?
