Chapter 8

(I'm really short on pictures for the story so...yeah.)

Nobody outside of the UASTU was informed about the incident from before. Before long, even the teachers had dropped the subject. Of course, that was just to ensure rumours were kept to a minimum.

"And you're sure that's what you saw?"
After school, late in the night; Todoroki, Bakugou, and Midoriya were discussing their experiences in Bakugou's room. Todoroki nodded to Midoriya, propping his head up with his hands before continuing.

"How could I miss it? I swear it was one of Hawk's feathers. How could it not be?"

Bakugou sat back, scoffing.

"So what? You think he became a villian for Dabi?"

Deku replied before Shoto could,

"It's possible. Though that wouldn't make sense with the news concerning Endeavor and Hawks."

Shoto looked up, concerned. He hadn't heard of anything concerning Hawks and Endeavor from the media, let alone his family.

"Midoriya, what news exactly? I haven't heard anything of the sort."

Deku looked to Bakugou, who looked away. This would not be pretty.

"You see, Todoroki.."

Deku took Shoto's hands in his own. Bakugou looked the other way awkwardly.

"There's been some evidence to prove that, well, Hawk's has been in a rather...how do I say, 'abusive' relationship with Endeavor for a while. He denies everything, of course, but, the way he acts--"

Shoto jerked his hands away suddenly. He looked downwards, clenching his shirt where his heart was.

"So..you're suggesting that Endeavor has been hurting more innocent people?"

Deku and Bakugou hesitantly nodded in unison.

"But- he's still- my mother-"

Shoto sat back, running a hand through his hair. Evidently, Rei and Enji were still legally married. By law, Rei couldn't, and Enji wouldn't.

Shoto hopped off of the bed, dropping the Manga in his lap to the floor. He left the room, grabbing his jacket on the floor on the way. He walked up to the roof staircase, phone flashlight in hand. When he opened the door, he left a nearby brick in the way to keep it open. He rested his arms on the railing, looking towards the cityscape. It was quiet up here, peaceful even. A good place to breathe and get away.

He could hear the distant hum of the Air Condioning Systems, the far away bustle of ongoing traffic, even a few crickets and toads coming from somewhere. The night air was cool, and crisp, the breeze came in soft, rhythmic flows. It was a peaceful Fall night in Japan.
