"I said, give me your money." "Please just let me go." "Nope." The dude said. Just as the dude said no, he clocked his gun and pointed it at me. I thought he was going to shoot me but...

"It's rude to be pointing a gun at a woman." A stranger said. The stranger then started beating up the person who was holding me at gunpoint. The dude was on the ground bleeding. "Are you okay?" "Yea, hey you're the guy at the club, you know, being rude to me and stuff." "I am and I'm sorry." "It's okay." "Let me take you out to dinner this weekend, to apologize for being rude." "Okay." "I'm John." "I'm Jasmine."

In a couple of weeks, John took me out on a date, and in a few weeks, we began to fall for each other. We started to do everything together. We never left places without each other. I was deeply in love with John. Eight months of dating and two months of college left.

"John, what's up? When you called me, you sounded worried." "Jasmine, I haven't been completely honest with you. I can't continue dating you without being completely honest." "John, what is it? You're scaring me." "Have you ever heard of the Black Cobras?" "No." "Well, the Black Cobras are a gang. Not any gang. The mafia. I'm in the Black Cobras. We're not nice people. We kill people. I'm the heir, which means when my father dies, I will take care of the gang. What we do isn't all fun and games. We hurt people. I wanted to tell you earlier, but I was scared of how you'd react. " "I don't like the fact that you're in a gang that kills people, but I haven't been this happier in forever. John, you make me happy." "Really, man, what did I do to deserve you?" "I'm still asking that question." "Oh, shut up."

John and I were deeply in love. After college, I moved in with him. My life was finally looking up until I got pregnant with you.

(Bella's words) "Wow. That's mean. " "I didn't mean it like that. Now shut up so I can finish my story." "Okay." Anyways, once I told John that he was so happy to have an heir so that they could take over the mafia, but me, I was furious. I was fine with John being in the gang, but not my child. I was mad. I told John how I felt about our child in the mafia, but he kept arguing with me. When we went to the doctor, I found out I was having twins. A boy and a girl. John and I would keep having this argument until I made a wrong decision. I said, since he wants an heir so badly, he can have one. On the day of your birth, I looked at my baby boy and named him Blake, and you Bella. I gave John Blake and said, "Here's your heir."

John was mad about it because he wanted us to get through this as a family. I couldn't watch my kids grow up to be in a gang. That night, I took you and packed our bags and moved to Europe. I stayed hidden for 10 years. When you were 15, I saw so much of your father in you. How you are not afraid to put someone in their place. I was a coward to abandon your brother, to abandon this family. I miss both of them every day. I was wondering what your life would be like if you had your dad or brother.

(RETURNING TO BELLA'S POINT OF VIEW)

As I sat here and heard my mom's side of the story, I understood why she did it, but I didn't enjoy it one bit. "I appreciate you telling me the truth, but it would have been nice to know that I have a brother out there. 26 years and I always felt alone. No one to talk to, no one to play with, no one, and don't say I had you. All you cared about was money and hiding me. Well, I'm done hiding. I'm going to find my brother and there's nothing you can do to stop me." I said with tears.
