Carlos was only what one would describe as the popular kid. He didn't enjoy the status at times, though, as he always found himself getting into some type of trouble with his popular friends. Sure, he was friends with nearly everyone in his grade, but his main group was the popular kids, which Carlos desperately wanted to leave behind, but didn't want to lose the status of being a popular kid. One of the main things that made Carlos popular was being with the popular kids, but the secondary popularity factor was his height. For an 11th grader, he was the size of a giant, being nearly 7 feet tall. Since he was the tallest of the entire school, he was bound to be popular.
"Hey Carlos!" a fairly small boy was running towards Carlos
"Oh, hey Jeremiah." Jeremiah was one of Carlos's new friends, which a lot of people called "the losers." Carlos joined their group because he wanted to give Popular kids a new name, and also cause he thought they were pretty cool. And, even though Carlos didn't want to admit it, this new friend group made him feel like he fit in.
"Did you hear about what the others found?" Jeremiah was out of breath
"No, what did they find?"
"Jesica and the rest of the gang found a cool underground building! We're all going to go check it out today after school."
"Well, they'll have to make it quick, cause I got to be at work an hour after school."
"Ok, we'll make it quick. Promise. I'll talk to Jesica and Britany after class about it. See ya!" Jeremiah began running towards his class
Carlos chuckled at Jeremiah and then shook his head. He truly was happy to have friends like them.
Carlos went to his next class where he got to sit next to his friend, Jesica. Jesica was what one would call the definition of an 11th-grade girl, she had shiny blonde hair, blue eyes, and always wore makeup. She always acted like she was a queen, and had up-to-date fashion. Jesica's friend, Britany, looked exactly like Jesica, but shorter. That's how Carlos was able to tell who was who. Carlos wondered why Jesica and Britany weren't popular, but he guessed it was because of how they acted. He never wanted to tell them but they acted like jerks half the time to people in lower grades than them, and they would always get mad when they didn't become homecoming queen and princess, even though in the end they always became them, having Jesica be the queen, and Britany the princess.
"Ugh, this class is like, SO boring." Jesica flipped her hair as she rolled her eyes
"I know right?" Britany did the same
"It's just the teacher. If we had a better teacher this class would be more fun." Carlos sighed
"Carlos, am I interrupting your conversation?" Their science teacher, Mrs. Durum, was staring directly at the three.
"No Mrs." Carlos looked down
"Well, then, If I can finish what I was saying, this is what we're going to be learning today." Mrs. Durum pointed to a large whiteboard, which presented the words "Study of advanced endoskeletons!" Carlos hated the study of endoskeletons since they always would get the creepy ones from Freddy Fazbears pizzeria, a local pizzeria he hated dearly. His younger brother would always force Carlos to go with him wherever he went, and it made Carlos irritated.
