Knowing being on the football team he would get hurt, he still joined. Where did that get him? Sitting in the infirmary, waiting for the nurse. He knew he shouldn't have gone for the play, but he just wanted to help out the team. Thanks to him they won the game. But also, don't know if he is even gonna be able to play next game.
"Hello George, how are you feeling," asked the nurse?
"I'm feeling okay, just kinda hurt my leg" George replies. The nurse walked over to George and examined his leg. She nodded and looked at him.
"Maybe a brace and some ice will at least ease the pain and heal it for a bit" she said with a smile. She handed him a knee brace and some ice.
"Thank you! But will I be able to play in the game? It's in two weeks" George asked obviously concerned. The nurse smiled and nodded.
"Keep this brace on all day every day and you'll be good" she said warmly. George nodded and stood up but fell back into his seat.
"Oh, my goodness! I'm so sorry! I forgot to give you the crutches" the nurse exclaims grabbing crutches and handing them to George. George took them, chuckling a bit.
"No worries at all, thank you" he said hoisting himself up. George said his goodbyes and crutched his way back to his parents.
"I'll be fine for the game don't worry" said George seeing the worry in his parent's eyes. They smile and let out their sighs of relief.
*****Time Skip*****
George crutched his way to his locker, attempting not to hurt people with his crutches. Once he finally got to his locker, he saw none other than his locker mate, Dream. Or Clay. No, if he ever called him that, Dream would punch him in the face. Attempting not to make eye contact, he unlocked his locker. Struggling, George put his stuff in his bag. Dream took notice to that and laughed.
"How did you get hurt" he asked eyeing his knee. George rolled his eyes and looked at him.
"Football game. I'm wide receiver and I took a nasty hit last night" George said dropping his bag and crutches. Groaning, he bent down to pick up his stuff.
"Aw it's not easy being hurt is it" Dream teased looking at George. George picked up his stuff and glared at Dream. The bell rings and Dream looks up.
"That's my cue to head to the bathrooms" he said looking at George. George just stayed silent.
"You know football player or not, it doesn't make you cool. If you weren't such a loser, we could have been friends" said Dream winking at George and hitting the books out of his hands. Dream left to the bathrooms leaving George to pick up his books, a slight blush forming on his cheeks. George doesn't know why he has a crush on Dream, but he just did. George groaned as held his book and struggled to put them in his bag. He threw his backpack over his shoulder and crutched his way to class. Once he got into class, everyone asked him about his leg.
"Football. I took a nasty hit last night to win the game" George said countless times. When the questions finally stopped, he took a seat. He felt a gentle tap on his shoulder once he sat down. When he turned around, he saw one of his best friends, Beth.
"So, should I just call you no leg wonder" she said with a laugh. George smiled and shook his head at her.
"You're out of this world Beth" he responded turning back around. George took out his air pods and put them in, drowning out the teachers' voice. He laid his head on his desk and soon drifted off. He woke up to the sound of the bell. He grabbed his bag and dread the next period. As he crutched his way to class, he saw Dream again. Looking at him while crutching around, George ended up tripping, and falling onto the ground. Holding his knee, his eyes filled with tears of anger. He saw Dream in the distance laughing, teasing him about being clumsy. That only made the tears in his eyes fall. He liked Dream, but he wished he wasn't so rude to him. Attempting to stand up, he fell once more. Looking at everyone staring at him, George nearly exploded out of embarrassment and anger.
"Do you all have a staring problem" he said looking at everyone. Everyone blinked in surprise and continued to walk to their classes. He dragged himself to a wall and pulled himself up. As he stood up, he grabbed his knee instantly. The pain surged through his knee and all he could do was squeeze his eyes shut and wish for the pain to go away. Dream took notice to that and looked around, making sure no one was looking at him. No one dared to stare in his direction. They all feared him too much. He walked over to George and looked at him.
"What's your deal loser" he asked looking at George. George's eyes shot open and he winced.
"I just fell and hurt my knee again, you saw me fall I watched you laugh at me" George said coldly. Dream took notice to his attitude and grabbed him.
"Drop it city boy" he growled looking at George. George just looked at him. God, why does he have to be so cute Dream thought. He makes it harder to bully him. George sighed and grabbed his crutches.
"Look I have to get to class and I'm not in the mood to be pushed around by you right now." Dream looked away and nodded. George grabbed his bag and crutched away. Dream looked after George and pulled off his mask. His emerald green eyes looking almost pitiful. George could feel Dreams gaze, hot to his back. Not turning around, he continued on to class.
