Rosalia rocked herself back and forth as Remi stepped into the cell and grabbed her by her arm for her cleaning. He did it every 2 days, where he would grab her and pull her to another room in the basement that had a shower. He would strip her down and throw her into the showering section, but the shower didn't work. Instead he would get a hose and hose her down from head to toe with ice cold water.

She would shiver from the icey coldness at first, but slowly her body would become numb to it as her temperature dropped rapidly. And then, once he was done he would throw her back over his shoulder. Her body would vibrate from the violent shivers as he tossed her carelessly back into her cell along with a clean shirt for her to wear... But that's all she was given to fight off the biting temperature of the basement.

Sometimes, she wasn't so lucky and she'd catch him on a bad day. Then he'd beat her out of anger. Simply because she was useless to him and he had finally realized that.

Rosalia laid back weakly in the now filthy blankets. It had been 2 weeks, 2 long weeks and she was sure that she would be here for a long time more. Nobody would look for her, no one would even notice she was gone and that thought alone was enough to drive her to tears.

"Please" she would mumble to no one in particular as she sobbed. What she was begging for she wasn't sure, maybe for it all to end.... Maybe for the pain to numb.... She didn't know what she wanted anymore, anything was better than here.

She heard the familiar rattle of the door and felt her chest cave in. "Please" she begged a God she wasn't even sure was listening as her body shook with fear. She heard the door open and the footsteps down the wooden stairs before they stopped outside her little cell.

"Rosalia?" the unfamiliar voice asked causing Rosa to shoot up in surprise, ignoring the pain of her bruised body. She saw a man standing outside her cell, someone she had never before.
"Rosalia, I'm here to help you. I work for the King family" the man said causing Rosa to rise to her knees with hope.

She stood up on her shake legs and limped slightly to the gate as he opened it. "I'm going to get you out of here, can you walk? " and that was all it took for the tears to come again with full force. He pushed the gate open completely and stepped aside for her to come through. Rosalia didn't waste a moment before she walked through, grabbing onto his arm as he lead the way out.

She walked carefully up the wooden stair case toward the door that had caused her so much anxiety just moments before. The thought of all this being an elaborate scheme of Remi's crossed he remind for the shortest seconds before she pushed it away. She couldn't afford to let him get to her mind like that. She needed to believe... She needed the hope.

He opened the door and pulled her around the room, Rosalia noted how relatively normal the entire Manor looked, as if people actually lived there.
"W-where is Remi?" she asked fearfully, her eyes and wide as she searched the area for any signs of life.

The man pulled her closer to him i a comforting manner. "Relax, he's gone out" he said surely. We're heading out the back and through the forest toward the main road. Once you hit the main road you have to run right, towards the gas station, I can't come with you past the forest... Okay? " he asked. And she nodded her head, the reality of the situation now sinking in.

" At the gas station, all you have to say is that you're looking for Emiliano King and they will know who you are and call for help. " he instructed as they moved through a small field towards a larger forest.

It was then that Rosalia noted that this house was basically in the middle of a clearing surrounded by woods.
" This is as far as I go. If you run straight you'll get to a fence. There's a hole in the fence. You run straight some more you'll get the road, run right by the road." he said with finality as Rosa absorbed the information like a sponge before nodding her head.

" Good, now go. " and with that, she ran.

Her barefeet ached as the different stones and sticks dug into the soft soles but she didn't dare stop to check them. She didn't care about the pain, not when her escape was just a breath away. She ran fro about 15 minutes through the forest, her chest burning from the exertion before she found the fence. She searched the wired wall for any sign of a hole before finding one a few metres away.

Without hesitation she pushed herself through before getting up and continuing to run, the adrenaline pushing her past her fatigue. She couldn't stop now, the mere thought of being caught had her heart leaping in her chest. She didn't even want to think about what Remi would do to her... The pain he would inflict.

With her fear to drive her she sped up and carried on, taking a right on the mair road like the man had said. It wouldn't be long now, just another 15 minutes and she'd be there and she'd be safe from all her monsters.

Tears blurred her eyes as use continued to run, her chest closing from the lack of air. She needed to stop for a second. She needed to catch her breath, and then, as if the universe was mocking her, she tripped and fell on her already bruised knees and elbows. Rosalia stayed on the ground for a second and the pain swam through her body for a few seconds before becoming a dull throb.

Rosalia groaned as she fell to her side on the tarred ground. She felt as if she was about to faint, and she probably was thanks to Remi's latest punishment. He hadn't fed her in almost 2 days.

Rosalia struggled to her feet as she looked down the road she still had to go. She didn't think she was anywhere near the gas station yet, but all she wanted to do was close her eyes and succumb to the darkness.

Was this really how her story was going to end? She wondered to herself as her throat burned. She shook her head and tried to stand again before continuing to limp down the road.

She couldn't get caught by him, she refused to.

Rosalia hobbled down the road, her one ankle twisted at an awkward angle as she stumbled down the last 5 minutes. Rosalia almost cried in relief as she saw the gas station sign just few meters up a head and quickened her pace, anxious to get to safety.
